After just buying a Drift Stealth from amazon, i was searching for the cheapest sellers to get the external mic and the lowest price is about £20 which personally i cant justify paying that much for a mic.

So after some searching i come across this external mic 3.5mm jack adapter for use with cheaper mics that most people may have from previous voice recorders:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-DRI ... 256b42ebdd

and plus the cost of a regular 3.5mm jack mic which from UK sellers your talking up to £2 such as this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160695902988? ... 1432.l2649

This basically equates to £15 (free delivery on both) for a mic set-up....and yes it may only be saving about £5 but its still a saving.

What do you guys think of this? Have any of you gone for this option?

Both look like genuine Drift products anyways.

I think the reason behind why Drift have offerd the, Drift connector to 3.5mm jack is, Alot of riders now have built in bluetooth & other helmet intercoms which, some come with a mic built in with the 3.5mm jack. So you can take the Cam off but leave the mic in place.

Just like having a Satnav mount, can plug in when on the bike/ unplug when away from it.
