Drift HD Battery Issues

Hey All,

So I've had my Drift HD since Friday and right out of the box the battery won't charge which i've contacted support about, it've tried it both ways to make sure I'm not going crazy, but when I put the USB cable in the blue LED flickers on for a second then goes off. I bought a third party kit with a mains charger and 2 extra batteries, but these seem to only give around 30 minutes recording time of 1080p each. Has anyone else had issues with the original battery not charging or if someone can point out something I may be doing wrong? The third party batteries charge fine even when in the drift and it being attached by USB. What's your average battery life like?

Thanks :)

How long has it been since you contacted Drift support? Give them a few days. They're pretty good about dealing with problems. They might even replace it, which is what they seem to do.

If they do replace it, don't think they're being nice, though. Its under the sale of goods act. You know, selling a product thats not fit for sale.

Only got round to contacting them tonight as yesterday their log in system seemed to be playing up, email says they should respond within 24 hours so hopefully hear from them tomorrow. I'm hoping if they want it back to test or whatever that they don't want the camera etc back as well.

Yes I had this exact problem more or less. I brought a drift HD and it came with a spare bat and a mains charger (as part of a promotion) and one of the battery's wouldn't do anything wouldn't even begin to charge. I contacted the shop I brought the cam from and within 2 days I had a brand new one at my door. As for battery life I get up to 2 hours 1080p recording.

they got back to me this morning and shipped a new battery this afternoon and didn't want the old one sending back, can't fault that for customer service!

I find (for me) that the drift doesn't charge whilst turned on. Nor does it start to when turned off. I have to turn it on, plug it in and then turn it off to charge, only then do I get the blue light.

I have the same problem and Drift support emailed me within 24 hours to say they would replace the battery. Otherwise a very good camera.
