Hi guys,

I recently got my first vlogging camera which is the stealth, but I'm not sure if its working correctly or I have to change some settings etc. The camera focus doesn't seem right, I have it attached to the right side of my helmet and when I'm videoing, my speedo and rev counter seems out of focus. It just seems whatever is in front of the camera (Eye line sight) is fine, but things around it doesn't. Is there something wrong or is it me being a novice camera user?

Thanks guys!

It would be better if you would show us some video sample. Also check other HD170 Stealth users and compare (me for example) :)

Thanks for the reply!

Yours seems similar but less blurry (out of focused).

My first video will be up in about 15 minutes so if you would like to check it out that would be great!

Thanks!

Ok I've seen your video now. On the first view everything looks okay but If I focus more on the bike, I can say yes, it's a bit blurry. I'd try to tilt camera a bit lower (maybe 1 or 2 "clicks" down, I guess you understand) to make camera focus on the bike. Then you can take a look into the settings - I record at 720p, 60fps, 0 exposure and with night mode off. Also check if your camera isn't zoomed a bit during the recording (press the arrow buttons when recording/standby, you will see the zoom bar).

Thanks for looking.

What I will do is, when I do my next video, I'll try and focus the camera more on the bike like you said and see how it goes. I'll record in 720p @60fps rather than 1080p @30fps. Hopefully its just the focus and not the camera itself!

Thanks mate!

720p is enough and you will have the full 170° view angle so your camera will "see" more. You can always render the video as 1080p and nobody will notice. But the fps is a major change, the picture moves more fluidly at 60fps.
