Drift 720hd recording problem

So recently my drift hd won't record,I get the camera and the icon showing the memory card is there but when I press record the side screen goes black and nothing gets recorded.

Memory card issue?

Any help appreciated

make sure the memory card is formatted with the right file system.

Make sure to update the firmware to the latest version http://driftinnovation.com/camera/drift-hd720/

If you continue to have problems like most other drift owners, you might need to get it replaced.

If you're based in the US and bought for a dealer, take it back and they'll give you a new one free. If you bought online, you might have to send it to drift (pay shipping) and have them send you a new one (also pay shipping).

Funny you say this because when I try to format the memory card with the drift it won't erase the 2 files I have remaining.

I had this issue with my HD720, turned out to be the memory card, when i put it in another HD720 it done the same thing, put a different memory card in it and it works fine, try a different one

I also had Drift issue that turned out to firstly be a knackered Drift (returned and changed) then crap memory card.

Always use a decent card, Kingston, Sandisc etc, and make sure it's at least a class 10. The cards have a number in a circle - this is a class rating. It's the rate at how the cam reads/writes info to the card.

You can get a decent brand class 10 from eBay. I paid about £15 for a32gb Kingston.

to be honest i noticed a lot of people with the 720 having this issue, i heard from a dealer that it's a known issue
