Do you use your left foot?

I think its different for me each stop...

Sometimes , both,
sometimes one, it doesnt really matter to me

if there was a good reason to put only my left down, i would probably end up doing it. But I havent heard one yet

I've used my left foot since dirt because I was short and the exhaust was on the right side

I have a clever bike. Exhaust is under the seat

On the way he tonight I took note, I use my right foot More to stand. Guess its cause its the dominant one

Wyvernbiker has been doing his advanced tests and has been advised that the advanced way is now seen to be the right foot. Unfortunately some other instructors won't accept this and you don't know which type will be judging you. Nightmare.

in my msf course instructor told us the safest way to stop was to keep ur right foot on the brake. and to put ur left foot down after putting ur bike in 1st so u can zip out of the way if some one is coming up on u and not slowing down

I allways arive at the lights, staying in 1st...watch for the car approaching from behind...is he going to stop..ready to drop cluth n go if not...hes stopping-Good...Neutral(maybe) Both Feet down.

The reason for Both - i hate those Nasty 'cross winds', allmost dropped it once from it blowing toward the side i didnt have a foot down.
I dont ever want the be the Noob at the lights falling over!! Embarrising enough when i did it with those stupid peddle clips(bicycle)...lol

That's what mine said too and it makes sense but it isn't the only way. I prefer my left foot but I've done them all in different situations.

That's how they taught us in the UK. Safer to keep the rear brake covered, especially useful for hill starts etc.

For me it depends on whether I have put the bike in neutral or not to rest my wrists. If it's in neutral I'll put my right foot down so I can snick it into 1st quickly. If it's not in neutral I'll put my left down and keep my right on the brake.

The exception to the rule is if it is excessively windy or if I have Mrs. Gentleman on the back I will often put both down.

I usually use my left foot.

An IAM guy told me to use both once for more stability but I prefer the rear end shunt protection of holding on the rear brake rather than the front brake.

How bad is it where you live?

Ive never been blown off.

Not too windy, but every now and then, and also same as Gentleman Biker said, when my lady is on the back - Stability.
Overall, i do what the situation dictates, 'Allways Expect the Un-Expected'.

You gotta keep your Spidey sense up too...and you should be able to stop-stay-take off in every stance...all be it the goal anyway.
