DJI OSMO Action 4

So my youtube feed was full of Action 4 reviews last night, how did people get them so quick or did DJI send out a load of them? and it must have been a load of them as had to be way over 30 different reviews popped up in my recommended feed, I watched a few and it seems a good camera,

Anyone getting one? I doubt I'll be getting one but if the release of the 4 means the price of the 3 drops then I may pick up an action 3

Generally they are press review samples (read unpaid sponsored videos), i'm not a cynic (honest) but i do normally wait for the one month/long term review to get the real feel for them, simply because the reviewers generally haven't had time to use in anger for long enough and also wanting to not be too harsh if theirs issues to keep on the manufactures review list.

that said, i'm really interested in this, i current have the insta360 X3 for main coverage and the go2 as a helmet cam, and them either my mobile (sony xperia 1iv) or sony A7iii for talking head stuff. i was thinking about getting a insta one RS for a helmet (keeping in the insta360 studio ecosystem) but now i'm thinking about the action 3 (as the price drop should be here forthcoming

Yeah I get that they are sent out for review but didn't realise so many were sent out, the thing that surprised me was a few of the videos i seen were from relatively small channels which surprised me that DJI would send out to smaller channels, I thought they would stick to the big names only, I suppose its a good thing that they also keep the small guys in mind.

Also seems way more reviews out on the release of the 4 than I remember than the 3, perhaps its a DJI push to wipe gopro out...

Quite Ironic really, that gopro tried the drone thing to compete with DJI on that front and failed miserably and now DJI are slowly but surely trying to take away the action camera market from gopro. I mean the action 3 has to have hurt gopro sales and I'm sure the action 4 will continue to do so, gopro need to up there game as youtube is full of videos complaining about gopro reliability etc.

Yeah like you I'm gonna wait and see if there is a price drop on the 3 and think about picking one up if there is.

I too have noticed a sudden plethora of DJI Osmo 4 reviews by motovloggers in the past day or so. Haven't watched one yet, guess I should see how this new camera turned out...

Looks a great camera with some decent upgrades to the Action 3, which I have. I have to say, I really think DJI are on to a winner with these cameras. GoPros are a right pain at times, especially the twist bolts to put on/tale off. DJI just click onto/off the magnetic mounts, brilliant.
When my old Hero & Black dies, I'll probably get the Action 4. I keep thinking of selling my Insta 360 One X2. I don't really use it and I find the editing a bit of a faff for me. Not sure what I'd get for it though with the X3 being out. It's got the GPS Remote and motorcycle kit with it, as well as mic adapter. Wonder if it would be enough to get the Action 4?

I've never really been a fan of the DJI action cameras, the lens on them always seemed to distort things in a weird way... sure the GoPro and Insta360 cameras all do too, but it always seemed more noticeable on the DJI cameras.
Insta360 used to look to smaller channels when they were getting established (myself being one they reached out to when the Insta360 One X came out), they use smaller channels to get the products out there, and then once they get a footing on the market, they ditch the small channels and offer proper sponsorship to the larger channels... I'm not bitter... honest! ;) hahaha...
I imagine DJI are probably doing the same.

I never remove the screws from my GoPro setup TBH, just take the camera off my helmet via the mounting clip which is a piece of cake to remove. I do use a different camera mostly for off bike stuff, I guess if I didn't then I may have to use the thumb screws more.
