Current Motovlogging Setup

This is my Brand New 2014 Honda CTX 1300
Hey All, This is going to be my current Motovlogging setup on my helmet (Scorpion EXO-900 Transformer Modular) once I get a good, clear day to ride. It snowed last night and probably all day today, and the roads are pretty dangerous to ride on or even drive on right now.
Once I start vlogging again, I will see how it works. Maybe it will reduce the wind noise somewhat, or at least I hope it does.

I've tried a couple mics and decided to go back to the drift mic. I have two black filters on it, and then finally a fuzzy shower cap over that. Tucked the mic behind the cheek pad.

Very little wind noise, the only issue I have now is my voice being too loud, so I need to tune that down a little bit.

Hmmm, thanks for letting me know. I might consider the drift microphone if this current setup still does not work. The boom microphone came with the Sena SMH-10 Communication Device, and I have used the small microphone as well, but it seemed like I was Darth Vader in videos like my Gas Station Kitteh video on my channel. Do you use the GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition?

I use a Drift Ghost HD, and have the noise settings turned to the lowest possible setting. I sort of copied motonositys motovlogging helmet setup. If you search for his video I pretty much did the same thing.

I have this on my mic. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003P7P2PS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I might also consider that same camera, and maybe use my go pro as a different angle camera, and use the Drift Ghost HD as my main motovlogging camera if this setup does not work well. I am getting frustrated by it so far. I went to that link and it says it is currently unavailable. I will probably copy motonosity's motovlogging helmet setup too. The only thing that I guess I like about the GoPro Hero3+ I guess is the compact size of it, but I would like to not get the side of my helmet in the videos if I get the Drift Ghost. Is there a certain mount tat would not make it that way, to where I am not a "teletubby" or should I do like what Walterriffic does on his helmet setup? (I would love to make my helmet like he has as well) I subbed your channel and Jrock08 as well.

The GoPro is a great camera, and I don't think the camera is your issue. You just need to figure out a good mic placement, and how to filter how the wind noise.

Oh ok. I will eventually get there in filtering out the wind noise and a good microphone placement. I am using CyberLink's Power Director for my editing software right now.

Drift mic was and is the first mic I've used (cause I got it with the Drift Ghost S anyway) and I mounted it in such a way that it sits between the shell of my helmet and the padding. It cancels out a lot of wind noise, I was surprised, I can have the visor up at 80mph and still talk clearly enough to be heard over some wind noise.

And my helmet isn't the quietest, nor the loudest. I'd say kind of in the middle in noise reduction.

But yeah, Drift master-race! :D

Cool, I will try that if this setup does not work at all. Will try it out when all this blasted snow melts and the roads are not that dangerous from either the black ice or slush like there is now. Thank god it is warming up now.

Also something else I remembered, the drift allows you to set microphone sensitivity and mine is always on the lowest and the speech comes out loud enough and crystal clear. If it's any higher it starts getting grainy sounding like you've put the mic inside your mouth.

Don't know if the GoPro has this feature too but if it does play around with those settings.

Thanks for the info. I will keep playing with it. I am working on right now, to make a different look on my helmet to see if it also reduces the windnoise. I am taking the idea from walterrific and his helmet.
