this may just be an assumption but dont most sportsbike riders prefer twisties and cruisers prefer straight aways?

Kinda...I guess. I don't think anyone really likes straight roads. Well...unless you like drag racing or something.

Well sport bikes were designed for optimal cornering ability. So one would assume that if you want/need a sportbike, you need it because you want it for the corners such as the twisties or track days.

tight turns arent my thing but some wavy roads and straights are my favorite you get to enjoy the scenery more

When I was riding cruisers I preferred long, sweeping roads to tight twisties. Then I got a sport-touring bike, and found that instead I preferred long, sweeping roads to tight twisties. Can have plenty of fun on sweepers without all the work that goes into the tighter stuff. Having to work that hard takes the fun out of it for me.

I ride a supersport and I still prefer long sweepers to tight twisties. The tight twisties are fun when I'm in the mood for it but if I just want to get out in the wind the sweepers are much better. That's why I prefer roads like the Cherohala Skyway to the Dragon when I go to the Deals Gap area.

IMO Highway 28 owns the hell out of both the Skyway and the Dragon. The Skyway is a lot of fun, but damn those tourists go slooooooooow. Last time I was up there some dipshit was stopped dead in the middle of the road taking a picture.

No matter what bike I'm riding I prefer a road with some curves. Riding straight slab for hours on end is not much fun on a bike to me.

I really enjoy the sweeping curves when the speed limit is ~45 MPH. Switching back and forth between straight roads adds some joy to the ride. I love accelerating out of corners. It's not so much about speed as it is the lateral G's.

i agree

Depends on road and traffic.

Straights can be fun opening up the ZX9R and/or overtaking stupidly huge lines of cars... on the GPZ500... not so much!

The ZX9R (not the best looking bike, but I do like the colours):

And the scruffy little GPZ500s:

Definitely. It's the 1999 model, and looks absolutely huge compared to any 1000cc bike made after 2000! I'm about 5'11", BTW.

Ah, I thought it was you who said you were 6ft! You'd be fine on something like the GPZ or a 400cc sportsbike, but even a tiny modern 600 will put you on tiptoes on one leg. It's still doable - I've got a few mates around your hight who get by fine. And remember you can always get a bike lowered and/or take some of the padding out of the seat etc.

I have a mate (5'5" ish) and weighs about 8st he rides a zx6r and does alright. Has to get pushed back if he gets stuck which is amusing tho!

As a cruiser rider my preference is long winding roads but to tell the truth, am happy on pretty much anything except potholes and gravel.
