Creating A Youtube Account Without A Mobile Phone.

Since Google/gmail acquired Youtube it now requires member to sign up using their mobile phone, or home phone. Okay, I’m one of the few people in the ‘verse who doesn’t use cellphones. I have a tracphone for emergencies, but it became obsolete a few months ago, and I’m waiting for a new one in the mail.

Okay, so I like things simple. No call waiting, or caller ID on our (yes, wait for it) landline. No texting either. Never needed it (or like it), and our phone bill is laughingly low.

So, is there a way to create a Youtube account without a cell?

Sometime over the last year I’d say. I created a non-Vloging account in Jan, of 2016 without the need of a phone. Not so this year.

If you have a regular phone, you should be able to use that number and have a VOICE phone call which means they (probably a text-to-speech program) will simply Read off the code to you rather than as a text.

nay, more like increased tracking, linking accounts e/t/c. I remember back in gmail beta days they would make suggestions for increased privacy and now they're making it impossible, pretty sad imo...

Request them to voice call you to provide the code, not sure about sending code via normal SMS. I can't remember but pretty sure there are other possibilities to get the code, still need a telephone number though.

Okay, I was able to create an account and a channel without a phone or mobile cell. So, where can I post an announcement and a link to my channel? Don't want to post somewhere only to have it taken down.

great stuff. I am contemplating my Ducati's replacement and on 2 schools of thought... either a big cc scoot or a streetfightered 600/750/1000 sportsbike.... I kinda know what will happen, I'll get an SF but I do really love the idea of a big scoot. When I was in the south of France and Italy you'd see the 650cc scoots out and about, loads of storage and super practical and also nice and relaxed, looked cool as f***, I'm a tit though so practicality always seems to take second fiddle!
