If you were riding along talking to yourself and had a spill or a crash because you were vlogging and distracted would you post the video up on YT for all and sundry to comment on (or rather point out your mistakes) even if you look like a plonker?

By the looks of it crash vids always get hits but you'll make yourself out to be a prat, is it worth it? Considering the slagging off you'll undoubtedly receive from the internets where everyone is a professional at everything, ever.

I'd upload it. But not for any of the reasons above. Mostly because there will always be a lesson to be learned. And reminding people that driving a motorcycle can be dangerous!
This.

I recently had a crash that I uploaded, and had just finished talking about the dangers of riding. Always a lesson to be learned.

I have done it but mine was on the race track. I was trying to talk through a few laps at NJMP and well... it didn't turn out so well.

I don't consider vlogging a distraction. If I need to show something I stop and point my head, if I need to stop talking to concentrate because what I am observing around me demands my attention to hazard(s), I just stop talking - that's what the editing time is for and I can pick the thread up or re-do whenever I am in a safer riding environment.
Occasionally the vlogging and the observing will unite when I say "look at this fucker" about the other road user who has just caused me to take evasive action to compensate for his lack of due care or giving a fuck.
I thought about this when I started and I am dead against doing anything on the bike (or in the car for that matter) that compromises my proper attention. I quickly worked out the above guidelines and have followed them since, quite safely I believe.

Nah go for it mate. No one is perfect. I post my stuff as it happens, good or bad, its all experience.

I sure would have when I looped a wheelie LOL. I had been recording for a while though and I guess my battery died when I did...daym.

I uploaded mine. I thought it would be a good learning experience for others. I've learned a lot from watching other people's crash videos. I haven't really had a lot of rude people begin jerks to me about it. I have had a lot of people that didn't know what the hell they were talking about trying to tell everyone else exactly what happened.

Post it. Unless you were doing something illegal or dangerous when it happened, and rather not become public enemy. If you post a crash expect either people that sympathize; people that analyze with expert conclusions; people that criticize like they are Rossi's race coach. :)
