Hi

just wondered if people cover there speedos when uploading to youtube I dont go crazy but there is times overtaking etc were i might go above speedlimit nothing above 90 ive got a few videos that i want to put on youtube but these videos do contain a little bit of excess speed (alledgedly) haha

thanks in advance

Been covered many times, upload at your caution, odds are no one will come knocking, but no crying if they do!

Thanks the cameras on my helmet been looking to place on screen on front of the bike its not very often i speed like i said just a few overtakes and i definately dont speed on 30mph roads

There's also a difference from habitual speeding, inappropriate speeding and picking it up to complete an overtake safely, but 90mph is excessive for any overtake. 90mph is trouble even at motorway speeds.

Thanks for all the input i think ill move the camera and the videos i have at the minute are really not that bad im not a maniac lol

If you do limit + 10 for an overtake and drop back to the speed limit odds are no one will give a stuff, but then the law is the law and we'll leave you to make a judgement about what judgement might be passed if you get your collar felt :)

I do wonder, if the Police pull you with a camera on if they'd take your YouTube videos in to account if it went to cpurt...

Get a PC Privacy Screen and cut out a section that covers your speedo.
That way you can see the speed, but the camera wont pick it up :)

Does it work? Look at any RJ video where he rides the Nuda and tell me what speed he's doing ;)

Disclaimer: The orientation of the film and the angle of the camera will be a factor

It depends, most of the time, cops aren't going to be browsing YouTube looking for people breaking the speed limit. Tho if you are a reckless person do dangerous things, like splitting lanes at 120 mph in 30 mph traffic. I personally don't care, the speed limit is 65-70 mph, but everyone does 75-80 mph, I've pass CHP at 90 MPH, not even a blip from their siren to tell me to slow down. I personally think its case by case. Tho if you do upload a running from the police video, don't attach it to your personal channel.

Good tip there. I don't bother to cover up my speedo, but perhaps I should think about it more.

I can see his speed (up to 56 in a 30) in 3 of his recent videos.

Simple tip if you dont want to go through the hassle of blurs, tracks, screen mods etc is just the zoom the footage at the point of the speed increase so your dials are not in view then zoom back to normal after ;)

To be honest I doubt Mr Plod will be scouring the internet to catch you but they may act if a member of the public reports you and your footage. So don't piss people off is a good survival skill ;)

Angle the camera up a bit, that's what I do in my vids, and I lift my head a touch to make sure :)

I don't cover up my speedo either. I only blur my license plate. Sure cops could force Youtube to hand out my IP, but I doubt that they'll do it, if you were only moderately speeding and not doing crazy stuff.
