Coolant And Brake Fluid?

I got my CAR 600RR when it had about 15k miles on it, and the dealer said they would service it completely before I picked it up.. Now I put about 5k miles on it, and I'm wondering what you guys all recommend for flushing the fluids (coolant, brake fluid, etc).. And while you're at it, what other servicing things (other than oil) should I have to worry about so that I can keep my bike as mint as possible?

Brake fluid every two years, same for coolant. Check the book for minimum soecs. The coolant may need to be silicate free as well.

The dealer is unlikely to have changed either unless he's done a specific service to the manufacturer's spec.
 
As Lurch said. Every two years. If I were you, I would do it solely for peace of mind. The CBR does require silicate free coolant.

I would also check your spark plugs. I'm 95% sure the CBR's stock plugs are "good" up to 32k miles, but it's another thing that is worth checking for peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice, I knew I could count on this forum for help! I've been meaning to get an owner's manual for my bike anyways, might as well learn how to flush fluids myself
 
Owners forum would be good to join, and if you can't get a Honda book, get a Haynes or whatever the US version is that I've forgotten the name of.
 
Love the 600rr's. I wanted one for the track.

As for brake fluids. I tend to change it at the start and end of Summer.
Oils/filter I change every 1500 miles on the road bike.
Coolants. I stick with manual specs as I'm in the UK so it doesn't age quickly

It really depends on how you ride and the weather where you are. If you live somewhere hot, change the brake fluids more.
 
For the coolant I've gotten some Prestone 50/50 antifreeze coolant which is apparently silicate, borate, nitrite, phosphate free. After draining all coolant, I filled it back up with some distilled water, ran it for a few minutes and then drained again; Finally filling up with new coolant. You will probably need to burp the radiator afterwards to get all the air bubbles out of the system so the engine doesn't overheat. As for the break fluid I've gotten dot 4 fluid type, which is used for most motorcycle, but I would check google to make sure for your model.
 
Thanks for all the feedback. I ordered one of those Haynes manuals and will figure it out once it arrives. This bike is my first supersport bike and I treat it like it's my child lol, so I want to make sure I do everything right!
 
Every vehicle I buy used I flush everything I can, and replace simple things, oh and give it a darn good wash and detail (including engine bay)
Oil
Coolant
Brake Fluid
Transmission Fluid (if over 60K miles)
filters
spark plugs
