Hmm, sounds like a knotted or clogged tube.

My FZ16 had an issue where if I turned the petcock from On to Res, it wouldn't feed the petrol to the carb, and if I turned it back, i'd have to crank it a bit so it started feeding again.

Those star crunches look pretty nice. We don't have them here. We should do a motovlog snack exchange or something

You may have had the best idea ever. Dead serious.

And the issue was/is rust in the tank. I knew it was there but hoped a little surface rust wouldn't be a problem. Yesterday I pulled the tank, cleaned the filter (which was sitting in like 10mm of rust sludge), cleaned the pump and ran a rust remover through the tank. Test ride last night showed a vast improvement. However, I didn't have the correct tools to get the fuel rails off so if there is anything in the injectors I'll have to pull those and clean them still.
