I wrote this for our blog, and wanted to let you guys know, since a lot of you seem to be down with Contour/Drift over GoPro. Anyways, heres the copied/pasted version from our blog.

CONTOUR CHEST MOUNT - If you can't beat em, join em - http://www.launchhelmetcams.com/accessories/contour-chest-mount

GoPro has always been recognized for its’ mounting hardware, succeeding in getting their cameras into/onto nearly any spot you can imagine. Say what you want about their cameras, but the polycarbonate construction of their brackets and stainless steel hardware is going to hold your shot steady through nearly anything you can throw at it.

However, because of their proprietary three-pronged mounting bracket, if you prefer Contour’s signature low-profile design or their many differentiating features like built-in GPS, Bluetooth, HDMI and external mic options, then you previously weren’t able to enjoy the benefits of the GoPro system. That is, until Drift adopted the ‘if you can’t beat em, join (to) em’ mentality, and introduced their new GoPro Mount adaptor.

Using their new adaptor really increases your available mounting options for Contour Cameras, giving you the option to hitch any camera with a standard ¼’’ tripod thread onto a GoPro mount. The adaptor works by sliding into the 3-pronged GoPro mounting arm, and tightens with their standard stainless thumbscrew. Your Camera then connects to the ¼’’ thread while supported on a foam covered platform to dampen vibration and movement once you find the sweet spot. The thread has a 1’’ range of adjustability along a sliding track cut out of the platform as well, so you can really dial in your setup and always have the perfect shot lined up.

Contour Chest Mount

One of the biggest PLUSses for Contour fans with this product is that you now have the option to chest mount your favourite contour Cameras. All you’ll need to create this custom chest mount kit is the Contour Universal Mount , the Drift Gopro mount adaptor, and a GoPro Chest mount. They attach quickly and easily, creating a sturdy and secure chest mounting system for Contour’s Cameras. In fact, the sliding range of motion on the platform of the Mount adaptor coupled with the increased distance of the camera from the body, actually allow for more adjustability than is possible with a GoPro. Likewise, Contour’s 270-degree rotating lens ensures level shots no matter what position your camera is in. Ultimately, Contour’s design is just as well suited for Chest Mounting as any other brand. You just need a few small accessories, and a little gumption to get things rolling with this Contour Chest Mount. Watch the tutorial below, to see how you can mount up with this mutant love child chest mount system from all the brands we love here at Launch.

quick one, drift or contour?

Sorry for the confusion, but it technically applies to both cameras. The 'Tutorial' is really for contour, but the drift design comes stock with the 1/4'' tripod thread, and also features the rotating lens, so it is applicable to both.

The mount system featured is really a mish-mashed 'frankenmount' with a gopro chesty, a drift mount adaptor, and a contour camera/adaptor.

We put together a second video after doing some testing and discovering that a couple of the parts from the GoPro Grab Bag can be used to make the mount a bit more stable:
