Clean Up Junk Channel Or Start New?

F4celess

Cold
So I have been stuck with part of the preparation for starting my vlog activities, the channel.
Having been a Youtube user for years I have uploaded quite a lot of inconsistent videos, both properly made ones and plain videodumps.
The channel has about 90 subs, but those subs are most likely either friends, or randoms who don't even remember my channel exists by now, in other words, not my audience. I'd also have to rename it to make it relevant for motovlogging I guess, right now its F4celessArt, which reflects my background.

Question is, is it better for me to clean up this channel and get rid of all the junk? not getting rid of the junk and just use the channel as is? or should I start a brand new one?

Some vids have over 10k views so I guess I won't need to remove those.

Also taking channel name suggestions, My nickname will still be F4celess, so something based on that works. Playing around with it is fine.

Either?

Old channel you might be able to retain features like a custom URL so could be worth hanging on. Consider if you want to use G+, and if the relevant G+ account to the current channel will work with regards to the name etc

id personally just keep the original i have videos older then my motovlogs on mine i still keep them they tell a story of things i like

I'm in the same boat as you for the most part. At first it was a place to post music videos for songs that I wrote, then it became home to pipe smoking-related videos and tobacco reviews. then I did some self-help videos, related to books I wrote, and I also have some videos of my dog acting silly. Then I started motovlogging. That's one reason my channel is just my name. My audiences are somewhat diverse and my motovlogs typically get fewer views then the pipe or self-help vids, but I just enjoy motovlogging. I did try to start a separate channel for motovlogs, but it never took off, so I just do what I want now.

Thanks for the replies, yeah its tipping into just using the old channel. It has every benefit it may have except the monetization related stuff. Which isn't important to me atm.
I'll just make sure the channel glows of motovloggism.

Now to just get started. Waiting for the snow to delete itself so I can go ride asap.

I always enjoy looking at some of the very first videos of channels with a lot of subs. But then there are some who make all their early videos private. So I guess its up to you I suppose, it might be a little harder to get the ball rolling but I am sure that after 10-15 constant videos, it won't matter as much.

I kept my account as is when bikes and motovlogging kind of just happened. They are really a path of how i got to where I am and if people want to scroll through 8 years of videos to see what i was doing in early days of Youtube, good for em. Plus its extra views.

Keep your existing one since you have properly made videos on them. Create a new channel under the same username, and start fresh with that one.

If you don't mind just progressing on with your motovlogs with the videos of your past, you can do that too.

I don't separate mine for motovlogs but they're all motorcycle videos so in a way that's the theme for mine I guess.
