Cheap 2nd camera

find a drift 720! i got mine on sale at best buy for 50 bucks a piece! and that was before the ghost s came out! so im sure you can find one now for cheap!

I couldn't find any at Best Buy but I'll look elsewhere before commit to the eBay one. Thanks though.

Cheers Dan, but those prices are a bit high for what I want to use it for. I'm thinking of adding a picture-in-picture to my vlogs, so I probably don't need anything too fancy. 720p should be fine.

ya but i would be afraid of those cheapie ebay ones! i would just spend the extra cash and buy a 720, Sony, or something! just my opinion. you would be money ahead!

Yeah, I think I'll keep looking for an older Drift locally. Failing that, I'll get a used Drift from eBay. I'd probably end up doing that anyway after the cheapo camera broke. Cheers for your advice.

Just ordered a Drift 720, unused and boxed. Now I have to think of where it's going to go on the bike. Originally thought about mirror stalks, but as they move with the handle bars I'll keep going out of shot. I'll do some tests and see what looks best.

Oh, this thread seems solved but for the sake of completeness, those chinese cameras suck. Had one, it was very, VERY low quality. I mean, the build quality was Ok but the media quality was horrible, both audio and video.

Glad you went with a brand name! If I ever get a second one it's probably going to be another sony actioncam. They are "cheap" and I know they can take a beating and still work fine!

Older model Drift is always a great idea. I'm going to try mounting my small waterproof point-and-shoot camera I have on my handlebars. Not sure how well it'll go but it shoots 1080p so I'm not complaining.

The Astak Action Cam is $170, great footage reviews. Comes with a bunch of stuff including wireless on/off. I would have kept it but the big issue for me was no external MIC ability (at least according to their support). I thought about capturing a separate audio track but that's just too much effort...
