Thanks - I'm taking a lot of flak from another forum for this one who say it's all MY fault?!
It seems everyone there is suggesting what I SHOULD have done was:
1. Took an even later exit, crossing the hash marks and cutting up anything in the legal, proper and correct left exit lane. (note that if I posted a video of me doing this I'd have been 'riding like a cnt' )
2. Stopped dead in the legal and correctly marked left exit lane to allow someone (who was behind me?!?!) to cut across the hash markings in front of me.
3. Followed the left exit lane dead in the centre all the way around. (sub points on this one: i) This is about a 500m crawl from my work, so cold tyres. It has been thundering most of the day and flooding roads, and in the time the floodwater has drained out on a major bus route, this island is NOTORIOUSLY slippery - other diesel crash videos are available from bikers, and ii) if I HAD been in the middle of that lane, where the fuck do you think the BMW doing 20mph faster would have been? Yes - he'd have hit me smack in the middle, you clever ladies. )
4. Never, ever EVER ride to the side of your lane. Ever. Else a car will hit you and you deserve it fully. No exeptions.
5. Not react in the slightest to a car hitting you. Even if you then let it go straight away and take the higher ground.
I'm not sure why I'm having to defend myself against other bikers?!? :?
