Can Anyone Design Me A Race Team Logo?

Do you want to see your design blasting around the race track on a single-seater car??

Here's your chance!

Anyone who's been following my racing progress on 4 wheels may have seen I've become part of a newly formed race team called RTV - Racing Team Vee. As a part of this, we need a logo.

Can you help?

PLEASE NOTE that you can design me a logo AND also win a brand new £110 super HD JooVuu X action/dashcam - but you're welcome to opt out of this if it keeps the forum mods happy. If you want to be up for the totally unsanctioned and unsupported by this forum 'prize' then I can PM you details (can I do this??) or drop mega hints about the website and Facebook group that may have more info on...

*sighs*

Bah! Trying to tag @dandoolittle in this but I can't!

Can you not delete this thread, as I'm asking you lot for help (a lot of you are expert sticker designers), and I'm trying to give you a bloody good camera to vlog with!

Is this a contest or a job? From what I have seen in other threads the will to do free graphic work for a potential prize is lacking. So it's better to just let people take on the task as a freelancer and get paid. Get offers, pick one based on previous work and estimated cost and take it in private from there on. Keep it clean.

I can make you an offer if you have specs/thoughts on what you need. I can PM you previous work if you are interested.

It's a job if you're a professional logo designer, I guess. Which is why we don't really want that.

I want to give someone a chance to see their artwork on a racing car. You know - for the fun of it and stuff. To have a bit of pride in what they've done.

To give you some context I have zero budget and am looking for sponsors before I have to pack this in and go back to the boring real world, so paying for a logo to be designed professionally doesn't really make sense, does it? This isn't exactly Formula One we're talking about...

I see, You could probably offer that camera as the payment. A decent hobbyist would charge around that amount. Point is really that competitions aren't a good way to get work done. Just being up front about what you have to offer and then making a deal is much better.

People can either enter the comp or not. However, I would like to see more about who the team actually is? Website etc?

I've seen some graphic comps work out pretty well, on forums/sites with the right audience.

I'd also presume that if people do enter, then only the winning artwork will be used

We're only really after one logo, but are keeping an open mind. If any others interest us I guess we might negotiate something with the artist? The problem there is that it' probably best to pick one and stick with that. It could open up doors for people, because I'm getting noticed a lot because I put a lot of time and energy into all this stuff.

About the team?

Well I am James Cater, or wwwjamescaterracing.com 'fame'! I decided my office job and life was getting a bit stagnant a few year back, and so thought back to the very first thing I wanted to do in life - and that was to be a racing driver!

At that stage I'd been ridding bikes for 10 years, but only driving cars for 2 - so I took my ARDS race licence test (that's where my website starts from, and tracks all my journey from there to here!), and was offered the use of a Formula Vee race car by my step-Dad and former Vee champion Glenn Hay.

I have absolutely no race, karting or trackday experience other than bike trackdays, and am now racing against European karting champs and lots of former champions. I also only earn less than £20k a year, so am proving you can live your dreams out without being from rich boy stock.

This is my first year racing, and because I'm handling all the social media and publicity stuff, and want to get Glenn some recognition, we've formed RTV - Racing Team Vee. It also looks a lot more professional to have our £3000 car in a team up against other teams fielding 4+cars worth up to £30,000 each!

So we're the underdogs, and I'm a born and bred biker trying to get some 4 wheel kicks! I'm on a huge learning curve both on the track and off it (sponsorship, press, publicity, etc) and so much of the motorsport world is secret and made to be exclusive - I want to change that and show people what it's really like, and what really goes on.

If I can get others (like you lot) involved it's got to be a good thing!

:)
