I think Bloke and Azzer need 10 mins in the makeout closet :) --Ok I'll stop stirring the pot.

Opinion on this stuff is always going to be divided, just like buying cheap gear compared to branded gear. At the end of the day people trust brands, and as Trin said it's down to the person as to how willing they are to put their lives in unbranded products.

For me there is a difference in buying cheapo indicators/rear footrests but the braking system is a whole other story.

no matter if its cheap Chinese or expensive Japanese you give it a once over as even the best makes can make a bad batch.

if it's to tight ether send it back or pull out the grinder (iv done this on about 4 leavers now and have even moded a random leaver to fit) and file it down a bit. its the same as if you break your standard break lever and u order one form ebay its a cheap Chinese unless you order oem and can have the same issue being to tight in the master cylinder or clutch perch, in the first post he said "shoddy parts and my mechanical incompetency" well that say's it all he dident check it so cant completly blame the leavers.

as i was typeing this up the post man came and deliverd the leaver i bought to replace the one i broke on my brothers bike he has a import kaiser xtr and the leaver for that are £16 so i bought the cheapest one that looks the same a cbr 125 leaver cost £4 i think , now befor i fit it i take a vernier gage and check the thickness the depth the distence from the centre pin to the end, then i will fit it and check it fits and is lose and not tight.
