Hi guys

After pondering to myself the other day i decided i want a motorbike related tattoo, Afterall im a biker and ill probably die a biker so why the hell not!.

Just wanted a few ideas off you guys to what to get done?

I was thinking a logo like :
Sidi
Alpinestars
Relentless
Fox
Arlen Ness

Along those lines. Anyone sugjest a decent logo or something similar? Cheers!!

So you want to be branded, huh? :)

Tattoos are completely personal, pick something you'd be happy with your entire life. Since tattoos are so personal and are solely about personal taste, I really have no idea what would make a good tattoo or not. I don't even know what kind of tat I would get for myself if I ever get one, because I am constantly changing my mind around.

^ pretty much this. Get something you want rather than what would 'look cool'. If it means something to you, great, don't worry what anyone else thinks.

We had this convosation on a topic i made.

but i still got a "G" on my left cheek and "D" on the right ;) (clearly joking by the way)

Many of the people I know, myself included, make fun of people who tattoo themselves with corporate logos of any kind. The LEAST you could do is call the company and make them pay for it. Personally I think it's just retarded to have someone elses logo burned into your flesh.

Tattoos are supposed to be personal, almost cryptic. Most people who see mine have no idea what it really means, and I think that's how it's supposed to be. You're the one who has to live with it pretty much forever, unless you want to go through the expensive and incredibly painful tattoo removal process. What someone else thinks of your ink shouldn't even begin to figure into your decision.

When it comes to tattoos there entirely personal, the main thing to consider is once it's on... It's on! Not going to come off without an expensive ugly scar. When I got mine i took alot time making sure I know exactly what I want and I know everytime I look at it I know I'll never regret it and love it.

I'm sure your'll love your choice whatever you get but just make sure it's what you want and where you want it and you know your'll continue to gaze at it thinking "yeah man! That's my tattoo" lol not sure weather logo's is the right thing, eventhough I almost got a 'Foster's' logo just because its my last name haha

Um....

Someone pass me a bucket. A logo? Seriously? Don't do it young man. It'll look shite and you'll regret it.
If you like biking (who doesn't here?) then get something in the theme of biking. I've yet to see a decent tattoo of a racing bike so avoid them. Maybe go for something along the lines of traditional tattooing but with a biker slogan such as http://areatrendy.com/wp-content/upload ... -Men-6.jpg
Make sure you have the body for it first though!
And once you have an idea for a tattoo, stick it in the drawer and wait 6 months. If you still want it, then maybe think of finding a decent tattooist who can do it and is keen to do it. Not just your local scratcher. I traveled from London to Birmingham to get my chest done, so it was done right, for example.
Good luck.

I've been considering a tattoo for a long time - but as others have said, it's about making sure it's something you feel personal about.

A couple members of my family are heavily into tattoos and the advice they've given me is this: if you're going to get one or two tattoos make sure they mean something significant in your life that you will remember fondly all your life. A girls name or a brand is unlikely to be something you will feel strongly about all your life, regardless of how committed to them you are at this point in time. Think of something significant.

Alternatively - and this is where their approach differs from mine - if you're going to get a lot of tattoos throughout your life, then getting something that signifies what your life means at this point in time is more relevant. Over time you'll build up a life story of significant events.

Consider carefully if you want one or two tattoos - if that's the case then think very carefully about what you get because you'll only get one or two attempts at it.

Just to follow on from Stenno's comments - my cousin also advised me that any tattoo artist who said they could do anything was a general hack and not that great quality. Do you want someone who can doodle anything permanently tattoo'd on your body or do you want an artist that specialises in that area. Anything that's permanent or semi-permanent requires a lot of thought and careful consideration - as Stenno has said.
