Bike Acquisition Syndrome.

I have had plenty of bikes in the time i've been riding, from 250s to 650s, however the longest i've kept a bike for is 8 months! I buy a bike that I think I fancy, then a few months later I think "really wish i'd gotten ...... " So i sell the bike an move on to something else, and the same thing happens

Think this is because I've not found a bike that I totally "click" with yet, but i'm still searching. I want to sell my ER5 for something a bit more fun, with a smaller engine mainly. Im young and I can handle the pains from riding ridiculous bikes i'm just not enjoying the ER5 as much as I know i would enjoy something else.

Just wondered if there was anyone else out there with B.A.S ? I'm sure i'm not the only one :roll:

Haha me too, I seem to get another bike after a year, just get a bit bored I guess.

Same, longest was 10 months. Planning on shifting the CBR by the end of this year too. I'll have owned that for around 18 months by then. I've been eyeing up a new CRF250L ever since they came out

I have the opossite. I keep bikes for very long times. I had my 125cc for more than five years

Still on my first bike; coming up to two years. There's nothing stopping me swapping, I paid the finance off less than halfway through the agreement.

I guess I just like mine! When the restrictor comes off next month I'll probably fall in love all over again too.

I can't bring myself to sell any of them I love them all and I have a bike for every purpose that I may need. I really want to get a couple of old classics, mainly a 1950's Harley and a 1965 Yamaha YM1. That would keep me happy for a while. If your wondering how I can afford all this, I'll tell you right now I'm not rich, after being married and divorced I've decided to stay single and spend my money on my love of motorcycles instead. I may be missing out on aspects of having a family, but having a garage full of toys is nice too.

B.A.S. is a common syndrome. I have that problem with electronics and technology. I am one of those who wants the latest and greatest. I usually hold out for the price drops as I too am not a rich man by any stretch.

Well I have B.A.S and C.M.A. (Chronic Motorcycle Addiction)...

I'm getting my 40th bike today! Can't seem to go a whole year without wanting another one. At least I haven't kept them all.

This described me perfectly until I bought a supermoto. Now I'm quite content to keep it longer than 1 year. YAY!

HaHa! Good luck with your Bike Acquisition Syndrome.

I think you will find that a lot of riders want to have more than one type of bike and that is why they change all the time.

Maybe you should get a job in a motorcycle shop.

Most guys that work in the shops here get to ride different bikes home everyday!

Was beginning to think it was only me for a while! Glad to hear some other people have symptoms too.

I might regret saying this, but i think its time for a supermoto (if i can afford one, haha) Sat on a few at the Edinburgh Motorcycle Show and loved them. Might have to get some new legs though :roll:

if I had money I would be in real trouble... every time I have walked into a dealership since I started riding I changed my mind on what I want. if I ever win the lottery I might as well sign it right over to the local bike shop..

Yeah I definitely have that. A lot of people make fun of me for it and give me crap. I'm on my 5th bike and everyone lets me know that and seems to want to give me a hard time about it. Longest I've kept a bike was 2 years...shortest I had a bike was 3 months. Currently on 9 months with my Street Triple, and I am liking this bike the most. I don't have any plans lately of getting rid of it...however, I do really want a couple other bikes to add to my garage. Once I'm making good money, something tells me I will end up with like 4 bikes in the garage. I would lose to much if I got rid of my current bike, and I'm too attached to it already. But I really really want a couple other bikes as well.
