For me it's not a religious thing, it's just a one-in-a-long-time event that I came totally unprepared for but whatever. I can get late to work tomorrow thanks to this.

Heres one from oct 27 2004 in michigan of the lunar eclipse. Didnt get last nights because it happened at like 3am, I was sleeping have to get up at 5am :(

I prob wouldnt have been able to see it as well, it was snowing all night, fucking michigan, 60 one day, 3 in of snow the next...

Great photo! I've always loved astronomy and am a big Star Trek fan. When I see something as beautiful as this - it really makes me sad that we, as the human race, are wasting our existence stuck on one little planet and not out exploring the wonders of the universe around us. Instead we spend all our energy/resources fighting over our greed,turf and politics, which is infinitesimal in the grand scheme of things.

Love Trek man and anything sci-fi! Yeah sad to see at least in the US, our space program is such a low priority now... In fact the only thing that got the space program going in the 1st place was war... Give NASA just 1/4th the military budget and they could do amazing things! Neil deGrasse Tyson says it best...
