Anybody do livestreams?

I’ve done a handful of livestreams over the years. Really badly performing vids, just a few people show up. Anybody having success with livestreams?

I’ve streamed from my pc in the shop, iPhone while driving around. It’s a painful setup but I’ve now figured out how to livestream from my action cam to phone right to YouTube. What I like about the livestream is no time wasting editing!

I tried game streams for a while before work got insane. Man - live streams can be a bitch to get going. If you look at some streamers, they have to wait a good long while before it takes off. That being said, there are others where its just so easy to gain traction and they fly with it.

Don't give up. But I think wit any of this stuff consistency is the key in terms of schedule. Big ole song and dance on Socials in the same way you might do for vlogs (Hippodrones is keen on this approach I feel - knows the systems and that). Gamers often publish highlights on socials to get that draw in for future streams for example

Just stream Baby! Cut out some highlights and see what happens with it.

Can you stream to Twitch with this set up? I know they have an IRL section - COULD be an avenue to try. Seems like the right place for it at least....

I've never hosted my own live stream, but have sat in on some as a guest. I don't really imagine I'll ever do my own, (but never say never and all that) as I am not brave enough, or interesting enough.... and doing the multitasking of checking the comments, while trying to be engaging just terrifies me! :D
But to get folk interested, you gotta promote them, by letting your followers of your social media know it is happening, you also need to look at the best time, because the best time for you may not be the best time for your majority of viewers.

@HippoDrone and gang - there are two livestreamers on YouTube I watch that remind me of what we try to do. One is actor and comedian Corey Holcombe's 5150 show. They have a hype man or two watching the comments and engaging.

The other is actor and comedian Slink Johnson's channel. He has tried a one man operation for a couple of livestreams and did pretty good engaging the comments without too much dead air. I would love to see his setup. I imagine he is using one machine to stream and another to monitor the comments.

@HippoDrone you need a Hype man. You have the energy to keep the show rolling on camera if someone is ghost writing for you.

I did it once for a Z800 tear-down, connected to the shop's wi-fi. Otherwise no, cause I don't have a lot of data in my mobile plan.

I don't have enough viewers to make something like a livestream worth bothering with. For the channels with high viewership though I do think it can be a nice way to interact with the audience. For Moto Mengy I'm perfectly content with simply filming motovlogs and editing them together.

This forum is haunted, I tell you. No more than a week ago an idea popped in to my head, that when I am on my next trip, I might do a livestream of riding on some nice mountain road. No interacting with audience, during riding ofcourse :P

I once did a live stream using my phone on my lid on my commute to work (I was very green back then. I wouldn't dare do it now!) I had always wanted to Livestream again though. The A45 Coventry Road can be quite dull, so would only do it for something visually impressive.
