How much for you to drive and teach me Piano over in Surrey :P

Shame you are so far away, although i am actually tone deaf and cant hold a beat for more than 2 strikes, probably would be your idea of a nightmare student lol

Aha, iv had worse students beleave me!
And well although i havnt done any grades (yet) i am a percussionist and session drummer (yes, two different things!)
I would teach percussion and i do...but i dont have any qualifications..unless many gigs and jobs count!

Nice! I've played the sax for allmost 8 years now :D
I play a bit of piano/Keyboard, so far I can only play a few songs by muse, and the intro to "in the end"
Played the guitar for about 4-5 years (self taught) and can play quite a few things.

Then when I was bored, as I played in an orchestra, I just borrowed one of their instruments from the cuboard, so I can play a couple of songs on about 6 instruments or so.

unfortunatly I had to leave all my instruments in France when I moved (they're safe in my parent's house)

I've been playing drums for a little more than a year. I once thought it would be easy to learn to beat sticks on drums, boy was I wrong! I do get to practice regularly 2+ hours a day which is a blessing but progress and muscle memory comes slowly. I love those days when everything clicks and begins to feel natural after struggling the previous couple days.

Playing loads of different instruments (including a rather awsome tube :3 ) i can certainly say drums/percussion (if played well) is a difficult set of instruments to play with flare!
One thing that suprises people about drummers...is if they can play with dynamics (loud of quiet and all in between!) so practise that, youl become gold dust to bands needing drummers!
But you shouldnt be struggling? finding cordination is hard to begin with...but if your finding yourself tiring out, maybe your playing to hard? drums dont need to be ear thrashingly loud....well not untill your hearing goes! :P

I think the struggling has to do mostly with learning what my pace needs to be while learning something new, I often start a peice trying to play too close to actual BPM when I should be learning at a much lower BPM. Last month I got a set of electrics to practice on, a Roland TK9V set, best purchase I've made. Now I can practice anytime it fits in my schedule and my practice on the electrics translates well over to the acoustic set. Funny you talk about dynamics because all this week thats all I have been practicing, playing to a metronome and hitting the drums through the ranges of volume while keeping time. I think a secret to being good at something is loving what you do, I tried many other instruments in my life, guitar, bass, sax & piano and none of them were things I loved and I never became very proficient at them. With drums however I think about it all day and can't wait to get home and start playing it's been like that since day one.

Ive been playing all sorts of instruments and listening to music since i was about 7 im 18 now,
Drummers since i was 13
guitar since i was 7
bass for about a year
keyboard for about 2 months
and on and off singing since i can remember

i do music at my college and get to play (clean minds) with others daily, write music, and perform all year round :) its an amazing experiance and if i were to suggest to anyone what would be the one thing everyone should be able to do, it would be learn and appreciate music :)
