Animations

what software do you guys use to create intro animations, and animations during your videos? i tried adobe after effects free trial, but theres no way im buying the subscription if im not making any money on this yet, the cost outweighs the income, and gopro studio has been working really well for me so far. i have imovie, but it kinda runs slow, and i dont know how to use it as well as i could.

does anyone make animations in here? could i commission some work from you?

Many use 3D software + After effects. Personally I'm about to pick up Blender 3D in order to make my intro. I already know Maya so it's not that big of a deal to figure out Blender.
My plan right now is to model the manifold and block of what I believe will be my next bike and then do some fancy editing to have it look like the metal is heated and my logo is still cool. Or the other way. We'll see.

If you want to commission someone I'm open for it, but I'm still inexperienced, having only done them for uni. Examples here and here. (sorry if shameless advertising is frowned upon)

All depends what you want, simple stuff is well erm simple. But once you start heading down the route of this n that and oh just that oh and sound effect here etc. It gets very time consuming.

BUT saying all that you may just want to post what you want and see if anyone runs with the idea.

i think having a simple 2-3 second animation or intro would spruce up my videos. quick introduction to the video of what its gonna be about, and then the animation, then the video. im not really looking for anything crazy, just the channel name, with some cool effects, fire, explosions (not really) but you get the idea

Take a look at one of my vids with the intro the same as my icon on the left. I could make something like that or someone on here could. The intro text you just add with your own video editor after.

i actually really dig that one. and ive been working on a logo of my own so i think i know exactly what im looking for for it...perhaps i will send you a pm about it

I'm an animator, though 3-D isn't my forte. I work traditionally, and tra-digitally. I like to work in After Effects, some Flash. For hand drawn work I prefer to work through photoshop (color, effects and alpha channeling), but I'm picking up ToonBoom, and TV-paint. I like to work in Dragon Frame for stop-motion work too.

Animation is very expensive, but I'd be happy to help on something that's only a few seconds long (no charge). I just made a short film that I'm polishing and getting feedback on for a film festival.
