Editing a vlog and I noticed I say "And uhhh", and "you know" quite a bit and it's starting to really irritate me. I'm pretty sure I don't use those phrases in normal everyday life(tm), but then again, talking to yourself on camera isn't like normal everyday life(tm) to me.

I cut a lot of footage from my last vlog because of it, so i'm hoping I get better as I go. :evil:


Anybody else annoy themselves in a similar way? :lol:

I ummed and arghed in some of my early attempts, so I practiced what I wanted to say beforehand. Sometimes I have to start over, but that's what editing is for
For some reason my voice goes up an octave when I'm vlogging. Don't know what that's all about.

Yeah I do that alot. If its too much for me ill start cutting it out but my vlog gets choppy. But with practice you get better I'm Just about uploading seemless vlogs now. Still saying ummm and ahhhh and ya know but it's getting less

Haha, I did that in my first couple of practice runs, but by the end it returned to normal. I think I start out very tense. I'm not a natural talker. I prefer text over talk. lol

I don't mind leaving a few umms and aahs in there. Most of us seem to do it quite a bit so I don't feel too bad when I hear them when reviewing footage. Long periods of silence I usually edit out, but umms and aahs are aah, ummm alright to me.

I had one a few months back were I commented that I could not avoid going "huuum" after saying my starting line of "Hi, I am cager on two wheels and todays topic is... hummm". Damn. It even happens in writing. Then I tried (and failed miserably) some 4 or 5 times to do the line without saying the hummm...

That and I do one thing that annoys the hell out of me. Clicking my tongue as a punctuation mark. I hate people that do that, and I am apparently one of them
