Am i screwing up, or has Utube 'Updates' struck again??

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else having issue uploading to YT????
Am i doin something wrong? i havent changed anything i do since last time.
Im trying to upload a vid, 4times now, and i keep getting this message

"An error has occurred while reading the uploaded file. Please make sure the file can be opened and read on your computer, then try uploading again."

Ive even changed the name of the file, in-case that was the issue, otherwise i havent changed anything, from edit>produce>upload than ive done before.


Ill Re 'Produce' it (check settings if right etc), in the meantime.
Any other ideas?? Anyone?

I had same issues so used google chrome to upload and surprise surprise no issues.

I'm sure the video quality of my uploads has decreased as well. I'm using the same render settings but they don't seem to look as good as they did before :/ That might just be me though Also, does anyone else have loads what I think are glitched icons e.g. on video manager the thumbs up/down/comments icons and the sharing to various social media icons.

Youtube is going through a lot of changes lately, some of them are visible like the comments others are more under the hood.
The video player was changed, now the button to resize the player is in plain view and not under the cog menu. Yesterday they tested a stupid version that tried to auto-switch resolutions on the fly to compensate for low bandwidth but the player kept discarding the resolutions that failed to play or gave buffer underruns and after trying each one, the player will just fail and showed static with "Please try again later". It was impossible to watch anything and the video downloaders failed to catch the video link.
It sounds ridiculous but, "try again later" is actually a valid solution. Wait a few _hours_ and try again.

This seems to hav e been an "every other weekend" thing for me MrFalloffalot - impossible to upload, 2 weeks ago I got a cracker of a "231,859 minutes remaining" message. Tried like 4 times over the weekend, finally on Monday it worked as normal.
Obviously Google minus and YouBoob cannot afford a testing platform, they just try stuff live and see what happens.

Yeah that's the thing isn't it - as the OP said.. "HELP" - when you think it might be your internet connection, your processor, you rendered wrong, it's the end of the world...

It's a relief to find out it's just YouScrewed messing up again :roll: :lol:

Ive NEVER had a counter till now, its quicker at uploading, but at the end it says the msg 'fail etc'. Personally when i do an upload i plan it for when im walkin away from the Pc for a LONG-TIME :roll:

Ill try an upload later (6-8hrs), with Chrome, cross fingers (maybe thats in the 'YT User Manual? :lol: )

what i ended up doing last upload was canceling the upload twice then on the third time it only took 5 mins. google and youtube has a bipolar streak in it now.

i leave uploads running at work on the laptop... but the web link can get fritzy at times... so before i upload i restart the modem anyway... usually works much better...

after several hours of non use the weblink seems to slump into almost dialup speed.... and its a tossup whether it comes back full force... one of the vagaries of my provider i guess... its 'only' Bigpond afterall :roll:

anyway .. whether its needed or not... i reset the ADSL modem and it goes through pretty good!

Thanx to all for your sudgestions, the solution was Uploading via Chrome.
Im not a fan of chrome, but thats only coz ive used Explorer everytime.


Proof you can teach an old dog new tricks :lol:
