Hey guys and girls, this is open to vloggers and bikers alike.

I had an idea today. Am I completely insane..

I want to organise and do a charity ride from Lands End, Penzance to John O'Groats next year in the summer. (In the UK!)

The catch is it's an enduro ride.. only stopping for fuel and water on a C90. You heard me.

I want to do this in aid for male cancer charity. http://www.ballstocancer.com that fight all cancer in men paticularly breast cancer, penile and testicular cancers.

taken from their website

"We are Balls to Cancer and it is our aim to fight cancer with fun!

We are raising funds for male cancer awareness and research. Our aim is threefold, firstly we want to open a male only contact point for men and boys who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families, we also want to fund a education programme for teenagers to help them understand and take away the taboo of talking about testicular cancer and asking for help, and thirdly we want to fund research into treatments and ultimately a cure for this horrible disease, we will be talking to Oncologists and hospitals to ascertain which laboratories are the ones we should be funding.

Our main fundraising event will be our annual Father’s Day races across the country which will start in 2012, we will also be raising money through a host of other activities including golf days, Mountain climb, parachute jumps, raffles and football memorabilia auctions.

We held our first ever fun run on the 30-10-11 at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton, it was a huge success with over 100 runners and walkers and it was great to see so many fathers and sons running together to raise awareness and money.

It is our aim that the Father’s day races will be run by all men and women with their families. This will be a real family day where parents can spend some real time with their children and raise money for a very important cause.

If you can help with venues, raffle prizes or famous faces please get in touch.

200,000 men are diagnosed a year with cancer in the UK, killing 10 men an hour.

Please help us, please get involved"

If anyone would fancy joining me or sponsoring me I'd be more than greatful.

Thanks!!

having many members of my family die due to different types of cancer this is very personal and meaningful to me... And so because of that I would be previledged if I could join you on this journey

As I said on Bikething.....

I'll certainly sponsor you and join you if I have the time off. Great idea :-)

Might give the C90 a miss though, I'll stick to the Fazer. Can't afford to buy another bike just yet :-P

Can't help but laugh at the fully-comprehensive insurance quote for a C90...

If I can get time off for something like that, I'd happily do it. Depends what's happening with my summer leave is all, I might be going to America on holiday.

If I can't come along I'll chuck in a few quid!

Hi guys thanks for the responses already, at the moment I'm still penciling details such as costs etc. Just knowing I can count on some people now is amazing! Once I get things in concrete I'll get a justgiving page out there so I don't seem to be ripping you off. that's not what I'm about Im determined now than ever to do something worthwhile with my life while I can.

I am posting this on various biker sites, if I haven't answered your specific question please PM me or tweet me @tomhills1994 for a direct answer.

Thanks guys!!

I would love to do this! And I would like to do it on a c90 if I can get one. At least that way it won't do any harm to whatever bike it is I am riding :) Sounds like a good plan for a good cause.

This is a brilliant idea! I would be happy to sponsor you and if it isnt around college or work i would be happy to join you given the chance, would love to do it on a C90, i see them all the time but have never rode one!

You have a deffo sponsor from myself!

Firstly, I think less than 24 hours on a C90 or similar would be really pushing it and require lots of luck. Many years ago when I was much younger, I went from Oxford to Aberdeen for a weekend. That's just less than 500 miles and was on a GS500E blasting along motorways and major trunk roads. It took about 12 hours and that included less than an hour for meal breaks (Google Maps suggests it's possible in about 9). There was a number of places where traffic was really bad, even for bikes. Doing over 870 miles on a C90 could easily stretch to over 30 hours, especially if there are any mechanical issues on the way. I know you're keen to do this in one leg, but you should at least allow for having a break at some point. If you end up extremely tired, you could think you're fine, but actually be in real danger, especially if the weather's not too great! Safety first!

It is, however, an awesome project! I'd hope to be able to participate for at least some of the journey...

Oh, and make sure you've got good thermals with you! It'll be bitterly cold over night. Especially in Scotland!

Hey mate, thanks for subbing to me first.

I've had a lot of conflict whether to nut up and do the whole thing or take a break. Strangly I can control when I sleep, and I appreciate the risk of being over tired, so I'm ready to take the hotel option but I really don't want to. and i'm willing to accept where I am in danger and putting others at potential danger we'll pull over and re-think.

I've already got my liners back in my gear, so that's sorted, want some thermal socks and new boots before this, but I've got time for this and i'll definitely have a jumper and joggers on underneath! I passed my CBT in December in the cold and snow and biting wind, it's hardened me up a bit. ;)

Thanks mate I really do appreciate it, I've raised £150 already! :D
