Growth was slow, I was feeling pressured to make videos, which was taking from my rides. I started to feel like no one was watching or cared anyways and bringing joy was my whole reason. I have a low sub count , 169 right now, and usually average around 100 views or so. But then something really wonderful happened...
Let me give you a quick back story. I live on a fairly small island of Okinawa which is part of Japan. I am American Military. There is a very large presence of Military here.
With that being said, onto the real point. We were doing a ride with a small group. I think maybe 6 or 7 of us. A new guy showed up and we were all sitting around talking. He asked my name and then told me "I thought your voice sounded familiar. I watch your videos." Which was a HUGE compliment to me considering the size of the channel, but the thing that really got me is what he told me next. He told me his mom watches my videos because she knows he rides motorcycles out here and wanted to see what it was like. I often do videos of great views and nice places to ride along with showing things from the local community etc. It was really that boost of confidence I needed.
EDIT: If anyone is wondering I'm currently on base and it uses a U.S. IP address so the website thinks I'm in American. Which is why I'm saying I'm in Japan yet the little flag by my name is the American flag. lol.
