Ummm........ I swear in this video....so rated 16+ ? hehe.

Almost dump the bike. Full explanation at the very end of video on what happened.....
I wish my GF had a camera on the follow car because that angle would have been better than the angle from my gopro, but I think you will get the gist.
Ok, no more promo videos from me (two in a week is too much).....but this was too good not to share. Ppl love watching crash or almost crash videos :/

You panicked but you did the right thing by taking the open space on the right. I get people doing that to me all the time too..."oh did you crash?" no dude...gezz...you want me to get hurt?

Ya, a few things went wrong on my end.
Hit brakes a tad hard, but I had to. That gap was closing way too fast. And for whatever reason, didn't clutch in fast enough and stalled which caused the rear to lock. and well rest is easy to explain from there.

Yeah I've panicked and had my back tire slide, dunno if it does the same to you, but mine slides out to the right until I let go and reapply....now I just do it on purpose, because its funny making everyone jump when the tires screech =P

I usually don't use my rear brake. Only when I have a passenger to help make the slowing and stopping smoother. But for track or aggressive stops, front brake only. I think I may have grabbed a tad small amount of rear brake, but it was primarily front in this situation. The sliding was due to the bike stalling and locking my rear.

Yeah, rear brake on a Ducati is kind of squirrely. I'll ease on the rear brake when I stop but on a Duc, you really have to clutch, engine brake, and front brake if you need to stop RIGHT NOW. Yesterday I was in the HOV (carpool lane), which is legal in Texas, and I ran up on a bunch of cars being held back by one stupid slow ass. At some point, he must have laid on his brakes, because the whole line suddenly slowed to the point of almost stopping. It was one of thosE OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT moments. I downshifted real quick and laid on the front. It's a bonus that my Ducati has a slipper clutch or I would have locked up the rear for sure. Slipper clutches are stock on all new Ducs (2012 or so), but mine is aftermarket.

That'll get your heart racing!

Looks like the car was off the brakes by the time you were looking forward again, so easy to see how you may not have seen it slowing. Glad you got it stopped though, and good thinking utilizing that space to the right.

Thanks ShiftHer,
Ya, I didnt see the brake lights, but it was completely my fault for not paying proper attention and looking to the right too long. I know I do it a lot when motovlogging, and I see a lot of motovloggers doing the same. So keep your eyes peeled peeps :D
