Alignment Issues.

Living life, one scotch egg at a time.
Bought a brand new CBR300r last October and about 300 miles or so in, the bike started to ride a bit 'funny'. It was leaning slightly to the right when going in a straight line. So I took it to the garage (2 year warranty with it, phew) and they said that the top yolk and front wheel alignment were out. So it was fixed.

Fast forward 3 weeks later (so about a month ago now) it went out of line again and it's gotten worse over the last month. It's going in to the garage on Tuesday to get sorted.

My question is. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not the alignment has gone out again due an underlying issue, and whether or not this issue could involve (for example) a bent frame or a bent swing arm? My theory is that over time, as I ride about 30 miles daily, it's putting pressure on the rest of the bike and as such the alignment goes. The thing is, I've hit a couple of pot holes but nothing major, and I'm aware a little can knock can have a big effect but surely bikes are built with this in mind? I've had 4 bikes of different sizes and unless I've just been lucky, none of them have done this before.

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm just having a think about what might be causing it. I will of course ask the garage to do a full inspection but if it's an existing problem, it's going to be hard to prove that it was like it before I rode it out of the garage forecourt.

Cheers!

Keep on at them, the bike has to be right from the safety point of view, and under consumer law, has to be fit for purpose. With that in mind, if they do cite rough roads so your problem, don't accept it. British roads are shite, and bike sold for use here should be fit for purpose, and be able to stand up to it, within reason.

If you don't get anywhere with your dealer, start hammering Honda UK, and preferably make contact via social media, cos it can make shit happen MUCH faster. The CBR is s flagship line, they won't want to risk anything adverse.

To be able to put out a new bikes alignment so often the pothole would probably need to be big enough to take you down when hitting it. Theres definetly something faulty going on. Stand your ground when dealing with warranties they always try and pass it back onto the consumer.
