'Aftershock' racer sneak peek.

So every year the Perth Cafe Racers do an event called Aftershock. Basically we got down to one of the guy's farm where we have a dirt/clay track done up and race some of the most inappropriate bikes, I mean like street bikes fitted with knobbies, dirt bikes fitted with slicks, and some of the rattiest things to have 2 wheels. I've been to the last two and it's incredible fun.

So to give all the others a bike of a kick into gear I made a little teaser of my bike. It's only a minute long so enjoy.

I dropped a 160cc motor in it as the original was blown (a bit of a resto project there), But I am having so much fun just working on it. I have plans to get it road legal if it's not too ratty by the end.

I saw those one you tube a while ago, the red one has been one of my inspirations. I love the little cafe bars on it.

I liked how they looked but for riding they are pretty crazy, Im 6'2 and it was not very comfortable for riding very long lol

Ha, yeah. I was thinking about getting some ace bars on mine, and maybe some rear sets to help move the pegs back. I already have the seat pad pushed back over the rear shocks as it was hard enough before for me to ride.

This is how I raced it at the last Aftershock event. at 6'4" it was a bit hard turning corners as the bars would hit my knees.

Man that thing must be a beast with a 160 on it! hahah! I had to switch my sprockets up cuz they were just wheelie machines with stock gearing even with just a 125.

I've not had a chance to change from the original sprockets yet. In truth I've only just got the new engine to start up. It needs a bit of work as it keeps conking out after a few seconds and I want to sort out my rear brake before riding it anywhere.

Yeah getting the carbs right on those things can be a pain sometimes, I highly recommend looking around for the front fork upgrade with disc breaks. Totally worth getting for way better stopping and handling!

I totally agree. I've been looking around for a new front end, but parts for these bike are hard to come by in Australia. I'd love to get a good set of USD forks, but they might make the front look a little too bulky.

This is what I put on my bikes, this one comes without the headlight ears so it would look similar to what you have already, you can use your stock top handle bar plate with this. I would recommend getting the new style steering bearings
