Here in aus, you are 18 at the earliest to get a bike licence, You are restricted to LAMS laws approved bikes. 650cc bikes are in that range, r6's gsxr600 etc are not because they are over 60hp.

i think we have it better in regards to the "what bike u can ride" range.

In the UK when you turn 19 you can do a bike licence that allows you to ride anything up to 33bhp which is like your law for 18 year olds because this stops people from riding r6's ect without a restriction applied. I believe there should be a way for 16+ year old's to commute though because how else are they going to get to work ect without public transport. I'd also like to add that i am a big fan of your channel and may have got a little exited when i saw you commented :D.

I don't know the exact law but from what I remember when taking my bike license.. The NEW law which came into force on January 14th 2013, anyone under the age of 24 must take mod 1 and mod 2 test (like normal) but their bike must be restricted to 33bhp (25kW i think). After your turn 24 years of age, you must re-take your standard mod 1 and mod 2 AGAIN to be able to ride a non-restricted bike.

P.S. Don't quote me on this info. This is purely from the top of my head and might be all wrong.

If you take your mod 1 when you're 19 and you're mod 2 when you're 21 you dont have to do a test when your 24. I think its called staged access or something like that

So you can ride a 33bhp motorbike after doing just your Mod 1? which if its still the same, its a test in a car park without road riding?

Currently in the process of taking my "A2" Licence which allows me up to 47.5 bhp (Over the age of 19) involves mod1 and mod2 test and after 2 years riding on a A2 I can take my A which is unrestricted.. These are the laws from Jan 2013 So you are nearly there itstruestory! :)

Typical- Take the Dangerous toys away? AGAIN. Thats what an inexperienced Parent would do??

I am a fan of NO 'LAMS' restrictions Law in this country, i think a 250cc is enough power to learn the basics of HowTo ride, before getn bigger/faster/etc.
Although it would be good if someone could, if you are of age or experience, you could sit a test of 'Craft Competancy' and riding skills/ability. etc., to get larger.

That is a REALLY stupid Law!! Although i dont aggree with a 'TeenAger', in having a 100kg-3t Weapon (bike/car), they just DONT have the maturity to use it.
(obviously some exceptions apply)
It is definately going to open the doors for MORE RagerCagers overtaking in same-lane/dangerously/etc, like ALLLLLLLLL the ones on YT?

You never hear of 'Car drivers to be restricted to Peddle cars', or something like that, just power restrictions, to which im SICK of seeing 'P' platers drivin V8's+turbos!! so its obviously not enforced to well??
IMO their are WAY TOO many drivers on the road that should have NEVER been given a licence. Its all about KNOWING howto control the vehicle your using, regardless of size, power, etc.

EG- When a driver has a 'situation', their straight on the brakes, No defensive procedures, just puttin their trust in an imaginary beleif that the ABS/TCS/ReverseCam/FlappyPaddleGears/22" Mags/PowerSteering/Air-Bags and all the other crap they put in cars, are going to ALL work together to stop them 'Safely' (with a little Mint ona pillow afterwards).
if you did that ona bike, you'd drop it in no-time? So a rider HAS TO learn a craft that keeps them upright.
All that driver is thinkn of is getn to work, the Shopping, picking up kids, doin the make-up/eatn breakfast/who they have to call/The Hot-Chick(or bloke?) in the next car/etc.
Its NOT that hard really, so why dont governments start looking at the vehicles that are really statistically proven to be doing all the accidents, running through houses, cutting Trucks off, running Kids over, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.??? CARS!!

Yeah, i dont think Pollies think 'Fore-Thought' too much nowadays? (Unless its got todo with their own wallet)
