Great stuff. Love to do that. There is a small chance me and the missus will pick Thailand for our winter break.
Is motorcycle theft an issue out there or generally safe?

Generally safe but I was off the beaten track most of the time I can recommend Nan province starting at Nan city and going to Chiang Khan following the Mekong and phu soi dao waterfall , cheers mate

No still got a few trips in Thailand yet , three pagoda pass and follow the Myanmar border up to the golden triangle hopefully will be the next trip in 2 years , cheers mate
