I have a short list:

KLR650
DRZ400SM
DR650
XR650L

Leaning toward the KLR650 since I could still ride up and down stairs/pop wheelies and commute comfortably. I would budget about 1k in upgrades out of the box. The DRZ400SM looks super fun though, but they pull a premium.

I need to go sit on one. I'm 6'4 and 300lb so I know i'll need suspension mods out of the gate but I imagine the ergos will be a lot better than my current beast.
