Well two years ago today I passed module 2 of my full test, and that means that today the 33hp restriction is up!

I phoned my insurer and confirmed I was going to derestrict it, they said that was fine and, even better, my premium stays the same. So I went out and removed the restrictor, then gave my bike a good wash and check over to reward it for putting up with having a noose around its neck for 6 months.

So now I am free! I'm looking forward to reviewing some 600cc sportbikes this year, up until now I've only been able to review bikes up to 33hp so it will be good to try more.

The 2 years went by pretty quickly, and even though 33hp is enough to have fun, 90hp is even better :)

Glad to hear it Dave! Hope have just as much fun without your restrictor, don't go causing too much trouble!

Looking forward to seeing your future reviews.
It's lucky for some too, some people's restrictions are just starting *cough* :(

HAVE FUN!

33hp is still enough to enjoy, in fact I was surprised at how fast restricted bikes still accelerate. Not a rocketship but still faster than 95% of cars.

True, my SV will do 115 restricted so not a problem. How often are you going to do them speeds. No one will know it's restricted stood next to your bike, & you won't notice the restriction is there. You may on a 4 though, so if you ever get the chance to ride a twin be more cautious when riding one.

15more months untill mine is removed but i'm more than happy with the SV & will be when it's removed.
