3 Axis Gimble For Gopro

Does anyone here own or have experience with the handheld GoPro gimbles? I am purchasing the feiyu tech G4 3axis handheld gimble to record footage at bike/car meets. Im hesitant due to the fact that you can only use the batteries that come with it cause they are a few mm longer than the average battery so you can't close the battery compartment all the way or have some back up batteries. Any other cons? Thanks!

Yep, I have a "Feiyu Tech FY-WG 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal" and did a video about it.

I was not impressed with it on the bike! I'd wait for the newer revisions before getting one if you plan on using it on the bike.

Off the bike, they're fantastic, and feel free to fire away with any questions.

I know its not perfected yet even down to the instructions being next to impossible to understand but i must have one! Right now i want a hand held unit. I will look for you video @SwissMotard it would help tremendously! Ill get back to you soon with some questions> thanks guys!

That one is meant for a drone, i never thought about attaching one to a bike. Great idea! Keep me posted I'm interested in where you will mount it. Im not doing wheelies or dragging knees yet. I want a hand held for more artsy cinematic shots like at bike meets or to record other riders along side me.

The footage looks amazing but too back i kept shutting down. I read that when they do that often it is actually an issue with the batteries, just a suggestion to look into maybe. Im pretty much sold on the G4s. They seemed to have fixed many issues from past models, just hope i don't receive a faulty unit. Wish me luck haha

I know this is an old thread... But how hard is it to adapt the handheld gimbals to be a bike mount? It looks like nearly every reasonably priced model is handheld with the battery pack in the handle.

you need the gopro mount to be able to hold the handle, maybe something like a seatpost mount attached to a flat mount, possibly 2 of them because of the battery weight

Sounds like an awful lot of crap to mount the camera... Guess I'll just still with the classic mounts

You could possibly use something like this with a suction mount depending on where you plan to mount it.

It also depends on the type of riding you'd do.
If off road then the gimbal almost takes away the feel of the ride.

Mount would be on the tank most likely... Possibly on bodywork... No off roading... Track days or spirited street rides

I love the way SuperBike Racer's gyro setup looks. He uses a Moto Gyrovision gyro on his tank a good amount, but I never understood one thing. I'm a taller guy (6'2), and when I am in the full tuck, my chest is typically hitting the tank pretty far past the gas cap. Is tank mounting only for shorter dudes usually?
