2013 Er6f Trouble

Hi everyone,

Haven't been here in a while and thought I share with you something unexpected that happened back in September to my 2013 ER6f, the engine exploded

If anyone's interested I caught the explosion on my Drift Ghost, you can see it on my channel (can't post link).

just watched the video, yo weren't even pushing the engine, how strange for it to go bang!

Apparently it's common for those engines to blow, cheap parts are used to build them :/

Valve went and took everything it could out... dealer said GBP 2,500 for parts alone

ouch, so you selling the bike now you have rebuilt it and buying somit stronger?

Yes, was doing 70 mph when it happened (video is on my channel)

Nah keeping it, it's not worth anything if it lasts another 50k I'll be happy with that

Have to say my Er-6f at 40k miles just started to fall apart, replaced so much on it. Now trading in for a new bike.

I was thinking about it for a moment, few weeks before it died local dealer offered £1,500 but they didn't have anything I liked in stock

You'd get 2k with new engine?

Maybe, I'll reconsider in spring but I'm tempted to keep her for trips get a 2nd bike for weekends and maybe track days...

I'd personally sell as a road bike and keep a grand on a prepped track bike, you'll get more bike for the money
