2002 Honda Xr400r Blowing Blue Smoke

hey I have a 2002 Honda Xr400r and in the last couple of rides it has been blowing blue smoke I don't know why please help thanks

What have you actually checked so far?

That bike is a 4 stroke, so blue smoke is bad. I'm going to guess you're burning oil. Like dan said, you've probably got a blown seal or gasket.

I haven't done anything about it yet it started blowing smoke Saturday morning. I just put it in the shed and left it. I will have a look at it next week.

if you haven't done anything then its most likely a gasket.

Does it do it all the time or just when you start it up? if its all the time, it could be the piston or simply running too rich.

White smoke tends to be oil
Blue is the mixture

I'm guessing your piston and seals have seen better days

white smoke can be coolant as well.
