£300 budget on Helmet

Ok guys, time to make some recommendations, i am being forced to change my helmet after i drtopped it from wait hight onto concrete whilst walking to my bike and just dont want to take the risk, so the budget is £300 can anyone make any recommendations

The one i have at the moment is a Shark RSI

That's what I have, its a little noisy at motorway speeds (http://youtu.be/YxIUTt6tcDc?t=5m48s) but has space for glasses (handy with shades), pinlock as standard (excellent), great air venting for summer rides, insets for speakers/ears and is light. Downside for me is the rubber lip on the back sometimes catches on my jacket and is annoying but that's minor.

But do try em on as Shoei helmets are different shapes, kinda weird. For example the Qwest just didn't fit my head but the XR1100 was perfect. If you go to their shop in Kent try and blag a deal, I got an extra 30 quid off when I was there. :)
 
Shoei XR1100 for my shaped head, got it for £300.

As always, concentrate on helmet fitting plus SHARP rating.
 
Please don't take this the wrong way, but buying a helmet online is a REALLY bad idea. We have all got stories of things being broken in the post, but imagine if your helmetgets dropped. There's no possible way of knowing. And then you put q potentially damaged helmets on, that will offer diminished protection.

It's ALWAYS better to go to a shop, and pay a little extra. That way, you can also get it professionally fitted. A helmet that fits you at first may become too loose over time, I had this with my last helmet.

Mine is also like this, needs changing as it's now 2 years old!
 
I have to recommend BELL

The M1 model is somewhere around +200€ i have the Bell M1 Isle of man TT edition:

The M4R Carbon is around 300€

The M5X is some more expensive than the previous ones, but it ROCKS !!!

Very vaild point, luckily there is a helmet city shop up the road from me which i didnt know so i am going to go and try some on tomorrow all being well :D
 
you need to look at the dot rating etc then the price some expencive helmets arnt as good as the cheaper ones as ive seen, ive got a carberg v2r ad it cost me £150 it has a 5 star dot rating
 
I have 4 helmets, 3 HJC and a Caberg.

As I seem to have a compulsion to buy helmets, those 4 were bought within 1 year, I buy the previous years models when they have been massively discounted. Most I paid was around £100 for each of the HJC's. IS-MAX BT Raptor, FG-15 Kynee and my favourite FS-11 Emblem. HJC's head mould must be based on my noggin as they fit so perfectly.

Anyway I almost forgot my point. Why spend £300 when you can get a great helmet, albeit last years model, for a fraction of that?
 
I just paid £120 for a Caberg Justissimo, I tried one on in Orwells on Saturday but they didn't have one in the right size for me available as they were clearing display stock so bought one online instead (it's ok cos i've tried one, and they get shipped from Italy to the shop, so what difference does a trip in a courier van make?)
