Intros And General Music

What do you guys use an an intro or any music in your vlogs? Any troubles with copyright laws? I was wanting to throw some music in some videos as I don't have a mic yet and listening to wind isn't fun.

Thoughts?

I believe there's a thread on royalty free music, perhaps you can check that out, always source CC 3.0 / royalty free music unless you want to deal with copyright claims.

Yeah I saw the thread. Didn't know how "up to date" it was though. I'll look again though. Thanks.

I used my own music. I wrote it, performed it, published it. I did have YouTube flag several of my videos on copyright grounds, but I disputed it and won, because the music is mine. My intro is still a little too long, about 18 seconds, but I like it the way it is for now.

Did YT flag it as matched, or did you get a copyright troll?
They said the "owner", which they said was CDBaby made a complaint, which was a lie. CD Baby is not the owner and they don't claim any publishing rights when you distribute through them. All they are is a distributor.

They, are a copyright troll. A well worded challenge gets the backing down quick. Had one trying to lay claim to a Josh Woodward song.

I use garage band mostly (for intro & outro) if i need a longer piece i use generic stuff usually

I used part of a song off youtubes free music list as my intro music. If I include music for a whole video I will use music from the youtube collection again

Be careful, YouTube's free music library isn't free for life. Songs can leave the library and then you get hit with a copyright strike.

Uh, really?! Cheers, i'll have to keep an eye on that! I don't plan on monetising my channel at all so I may just end up using anything that suits the video. Luckily I don't use music too often

I would love to be able to do my own music. What program do you guys use to make your own?

FL Studio 12. Best part of owning the $200 version is they throw in more paid plugins for free with later versions and you get lifetime free upgrades to each version. This last jump from 11 to 12 had over $100 of plugins in it. I was like...

Check out my latest vlog for a new intro. Pretty slick combination of DSLR F1.8 focus shift video of my bike, FL Studio audio track I put together, and Sony Movie Studio Platinum editing.
