What Can I Do To Get More Subscribers?

What can I do to get more subscribers? I do not want to use the youtube subscriber generator, but I am wondering what I can do to get more views on my channel. It seems that if I talk about controversial issues like Not supporting Israel,or talking about a corrupt religion like the talmud, or the Rothschild dynasty, I get a video made by navythomas8 that wants to racially profile me, and also say derogatory remarks towards me, like what the KKK and other hate groups does to christians, and other minorities, and I have often wondered why I even make videos then. I have decided not to make controversial videos then, because it is such a hot button issue, and yet my life being threatened by people that are texting or talking on their cell phone in their cages will probably generates more views. I often wonder what am I making vlogs for anyways, if I am going to eventually either start a flame war, in which I do not want to do, or lose subs due to my beliefs.

Sounds like your making motovlogs for the wrong reasons. You have to make videos you enjoy making and/or have a passion for. Then you attract like minded viewers. Although the world seems like its full of hate, hate does not attract very many viewers long term because not many people in the world enjoy hate.
Hilarious entertainment or amazing skill... these you must have if you want huge subscriber numbers.

If talking about, giving your opinion on controversial issues is your interest, then you have the right to voice that opinion/thought, but just like everything in this world, not everyone will see eye to eye with your opinion, some have enough sense to understand those are just your personal stand/thought/view/opinion, but most will want to start a "war" (bring on the Internet trolls). So if you think you can accept whatever that comes with the territory of talking on controversial issues, then just continue to do so.

As everybody else has said, if you're expressing negativity then you will only receive negativity in return. I don't think that you expressing your opinion over controversial topics is a wrong or a bad thing to do, and I think it is a good way to generate some views.. but if it's negative, the internet will only recoil with trolling and flame wars.

I've been tempted to talk about controversial subjects I'm interested in but I figure it's not worth the negativity it'd bring, it's not what I'm mainly about anyway, I'm just riding round spouting rubbish most times and having fun doing it. There's too much negativity around on the internet already anyway.

I will put my opinion out there when I want to. With that being said, negativity does beget negativity. So I tend to steer clear about the more controversial stuff. You get all the opinions you want in the news, why get more when you are busy with your hobby?

As for the subscribers, keep at it and they will come. With controversial topics you will alienate a bunch of folk though, and that cuts down the pool of people that will hit that subscribe button!

At the end of the day, you have to do what is enjoyable for you to do. If you enjoy making videos that express your opinions, then I would say you have to deal with the consequences of that.

It is important to note that your original post is worded in such a way that, to me, sounds very declarative. As in "you are talking about facts on your vlog", vs. "you are talking about your opinions on your vlog that you back up with arguments that seem reasonable to you."

I think it's all in the presentation.

With all that being said, I have a vlog that I'm editing right now where I talk about my opinions on religion, and I'm not entirely sure I'm ever going to upload it.

Thanks, that helps a lot.

That is true. I usually say that in my videos, but I guess some people take it as the truth, when I am expressing my feelings. Yep, it has to be all in the presentation, and when it comes to religion, that is where, in what I have learned that it can probably alienate potential subs from your channel. This is probably why I will leave my political viewpoints in my Introduction to American Politics class. LOL

Thanks, that is so true about the controversial stuff, and one of the controversial subjects I had talked about is my feelings on not supporting Israel, and sending money to them every year, when that 3 billion dollars could be used here in the states, then to help out an oppressive regime that continues to breed terrorism by violating the UN Security Council Resolution 242. The response from navythomas8 was made in a video where he started calling me stupid names and making derogatory comments about me. I unsubbed him so quick, that he could not understand that, and blocked his sorry *** as well as banned him from my channel. He seems to think I was his friend in some way, in which I never met him face to face at all.

That is so true. Controversial subjects is not what I am about either, but it always seems to follow me where ever I go, or when I turn on the TV.

That is true. I think I may have to try and steer clear of controversial topics, since it can be like a 2 headed snake, but I do not really want to cover those subjects to just generate views alone. That is not what I am about, and I often wonder if I upload a topic that is controversial, if I need to just keep it private to where only a select few can see it, and that way it will keep down the trolls and potential flame wars.

Thanks Nerb, yeah, I really do not like making controversial videos and that is why I do not have a lot in my channel. I will have to consider those in my upcoming vlogs. I do like nature, so there is something I can probably explore, as well as riding my motorcycle, and working with computers.

You can try out a controversial one once I suppose if you're into it and knowledgable, I'm sure it'd get people talking and see how the internets reacts, unless you have a massive subscriber base which is used to your format. A sudden change might upset some, I dunno, if it bombs you can always take it down. Like you said though it's a two headed snake.

If you do end up putting it up, post the link :)

If you are going to make a video about a subject where you have a strong opinion pro one side and anti another, you will get the people who have the opposite view coming back at you. That's politics and the art of dialogue and debate. If you're prepared to debate and have that conflict, then keep it going. I would suggest you understand or at least empathise with the opposite point of view though so you can see that there are two sides to the coin and acknowledge that those on the other side of the coin are human beings too.

I owuld also ask what you were wanting to gain from it. An impassioned rant against Israel and everything it stands for can come across as belligerent, anti-semitic, lacking understanding of the plight of the Jewish population (did you know that there are still less Jews in the world now than there were before WW2, and it is only 15m?) despite all their faults, and many other arguments that could be made.

If you really just want subscribers, and really quick, buy a wrecked up heap, and crash it every week, and do wheelies, and hoon around, causing mayhem. Otherwise, don't worry about subscribers and vlog how you want, irrespective of the reactions of the people who choose to watch your videos

If you don't know what you're making videos for and just want more subscribers then you're doing it completely wrong.

You should be making videos because you enjoy it, and if you have great content the subs will come naturally.

If you're giving your opinion on really controversial issues, be prepared and assume you won't get that much subs. So, as SwissMotard said, you have to do those videos, and give those opinions, because you want and you like to do that.

In my case, I am giving my opinion on something controversial (Catalonia's independence from Spain). But it's controversial mainly for spanish people, and spanish people (generally)
1) Don't speak english
and/or
2) Don't watch motovlogs
So no problem. But if they did, I'd assume my controversial opinion and would be willing to defend it and/or ignore the people against it.

Be yourself, go interesting places, be happy and do it for the right reasons.
Patience is a vertue and if you do the above the subs will come!
If you try too hard you can spot it a mile away!
