Quality Vs Quantity

I'm trying to do quality. I don't see the point in uploading 10-20s clips of someone pulling out on me, not really a vlog imo, might keep them for a compilation of idiots mind but there's plenty of those type of videos on YT already.

I don't put up any videos of people pulling out on me, it just seems tacky to me.

I don't like those videos so I don't make them myself.

I'm recently noticing (or maybe just finally seeing) so many vlogs "I got pulled over by the cops".

I'd prefer quality in the vlogs. My tastes have changed in who I'm subbed to over the years. I used to enjoy the short short vlogs like 4-7minutes but now its odd but some of my favorites have these monstrously long vlogs anywhere from 20-60 minutes!! Geez... how did that happen. The reason I enjoy them is they present themselves very well, they are polished and they really bring great content. Its truly amazing how they do that. It must take a great deal of there time.

But like you guys mentioned seems that the most popular vloggers are the ones putting out lots of short vlogs on a schedule. Can't say I enjoy there content and I'm not subbed to any of them anymore. Just lost a taste for that kind of drivvle.

60 minute vlogs! I can't watch I movie that long any more and they have special effects. lol I guess its my ADD. I think all you guys made great points. When I started I planned to put out a video every Friday, but I'm not going to keep to a set day anymore. I'm just going to shoot for 1 every week or 2.

If I do get my subs up pass 1k I might switch it back, but who knows when that will be:)

Yes it seems crazy. The real long ones are in places like the Italian Riviera, Japanese candle festival (thats probably not what its really called but thats was it looked like!) or the Alps.

Interesting he got over 100k in less than a year...interested in his channel marketing techniques...social media or otherwise
He's just really likable and makes great videos.

The rest is luck and getting noticed by the big boys.

So all you have to do is make great content to grow like he did. :p

Yeah his riding and dic*ing around annoys me sometimes but he can be funny. I don't like him and I do at the same time.

I recently got a bad feeling about him. Not enjoying his vlogs anymore.
Still subbed, still giving the odd one a view, but his appeal is gone now

sadly.

One person who I can't stand is snowcat. Maybe it's just me or maybe it's because he's Canadian, I don't know. Hey he has a ton of subs, so whatever works for him is cool I guess.

The more I watch the more I dislike the old style of vlogs. For me I think it's really important to have nice scenery, good roads and a sense of adventure.

There sure seems to be an odd correlation for some of these new popular people. I won't be doing any research mainly because I don't care that much...

I go for "quality" and the way I define "quality" is when I watch it back I enjoy it.
Trouble is I seem to be the only one who does enjoy my vids based on my views and subs :) .... Good job i'm my BIGGEST fan...;)

Definitely a fan of quality, over quantity myself. but that's not to say you cant have regular uploads that are all top notch quality!

Another hat being thrown in the ring for quality here.

I've never kept to any schedule, just put out videos as and when I'm happy with them. Sometimes a couple a week and sometimes not even one in a month.

I think the real benefit of this approach is that when you aren't making videos, your already released material is still entertaining and drawing in new viewers and subs. Crap stuff, forced to a deadline will have short term value but no shelf life. It'll also 'hurt' you as YouTube puts a lot of value on minutes watched. If you have a quality video that people watch to the end, it's much better for your channel than yet another 'Daily Observations Episode #573' with yet more shouting at drivers for not looking / using phones / being drivers where everybody has switched off after the first 30 seconds.

And I agree with what's already been said. As a gauge of quality, use yourself. If you don't want to watch / aren't happy with what you've made then why should anyone else be?

If you like it, publish it. If you don't, screw the schedule!
