Review Ram Mount X-grip Review

A review for the Ram Mount X-Grip mounted on my motorcycle's handlebars. I did this review with a broken (just to be safe) Galaxy S5. The mount/grip held up greatly, I'm currently using my phone inside the mount even while on the freeway without a worries. I didn't mention in the video but the only issue I see with this is that your phone may be greasy and may slip out. As long as your phone is clean and the four grips are clean I don't see a problem. Great product!

I've been using one for about a week now, and so far I haven't had any issues with my phone moving. I've tested it at highway speeds, and even offroad. I'm glad I spent the money for one.

Been looking at these, Will have to pic one up now!
Worth every penny!

I was hoping it would fly off around 100mph, but didn't budge! Super happy to have one! Just purchased another mounting system for my GoPro through Ram Mounts.

Yeah a mate bought 2 for his bikes and is super happy with them also, Will pick one up soon! Subbed!

I think this one of the best things you can get for a phone bike mount for your money. I hot the smaller of the 2 suction cups available from RAM and there is honestly no reason for the larger twist lock one unless you flying a plane into a volcano through a tornado lol.
I got the ball that comes with the allen head screws and replaced on of my handle bar clamp with it, and I have the one inch aluminum arm as well. Got all the items off of Amazon for about 30 bux and now I just trade the arm and the X grip between my bike or my car.
Money well spent!!!

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad there are others out there that have had nothing but success with this mounting setup, it just brings me more peace of mind!

I read reviews upon reviews and watched like 100 or so videos n youtube before I bit the bullet and made the purchase too.
If you go the actual RAM site and check out the Xgrip they have a good video that shows them doing different vibration tests for like 30 or 90 minutes STR8.
I did the same thing too though, I put my old phone in it and rode like an hour before I did my real phone. Now I have ridden all the normal speeds I usually ride and NO problems!!!!
Ride safe

was looking into these so a very helpful vid ...cheers ...just wonder where i would mount it as i don't have exposed handle bars

Can you attach to mirrors stalks ? as a suction cup will have to be removed everytime i get off (it will be stolen in London) just want to take my phone off when filling up etc

There is an attachment for smaller bars, however the mirror's bars are very slim. I wouldn't trust it holding a phone.

I looked at the UK supplier but couldn't see anything small enough for the mirror stem ...i will keep searching

I gave up on using my phone and now use a dedicated TomTom Rider.

It's easily worth the upgrade for the "Plan winding route" feature alone, which Google maps, Waze and Navfree are completely useless at on my phone.

I've got one on my bike and even with my giant galaxy note the mount hold great. I've had it up to about 100mph with a ton of wind hitting it and it held great. I only use it when I need gps but it's great to have.

Great review! I have the same mount, and love it. I have it a little off to the side so it's partially covered by the windscreen, but still holds up nicely at high speeds. Even with the slight amount of rotation, it's never moved too much to be significant. Definitely would recommend this mount.

More positive reviews! Glad to hear!

I have to check this out. Do they have a waterproof option. Sometimes I ride in the rain. That's why I have the waterproof case attached, but I'm not too happy with it. I had to do some mods for the charger.

By the way here is the vid of the rider you guys were talking about that laid down his bike with the ram mount attached. Seemed to work great. Starts about 30 secs in and talked about ram mount at 2:40
