Nooby Question :p

i would restrict it as much as possible, or better yet, not get it lol :P looks like a cracking bike but i wouldnt fancy it for my first one. SV650, CBR5, ninja 500, er6f, ninja 300/250... stick around that kind of power i would :P

Just so you have some reference I bought a N300 for my first bike. Which I loved it's a great bike seems like a lot of experienced riders even go to it after they've done the whole speed thing on liter bikes and so on.

That being said about 4-5 months later (some of which was winter) I went and bought a 2013 636. (This January)

Don't get a liter bike though. I love the R1 but that's just not too smart. If you are budget conscious I would check insurance rates out. That could really decide the bike for you

If you are comfortable on a bike and have throttle control the 636 can be done I wish I did it from the beginning although the 300 is more forgiving if you were to mess up.

I made a video on this the other week actually and personably would have liked a 600 if I did it all over again but for the typical beginner a 250/300 is perfect because it's so forgiving. if it's a beginner who is comfortable riding I think a 650 is a great compromise. That being said you can get a great deal on say a cbr500 as well out there.

Depends on what you want to do with the bike/where you live etc though. Keep us posted!!

There are so many options!! Haha good thing I like to do my research into each and every bike before I actually decide .

Interesting. I kinda thought the R1 was a bit out of my league haha, I am most likely 90% going to get the N250/300 as I love the design and it is an all around good bike from what I've heard.

You can't go wrong with the 250/300 but be prepared to get that desire to get something bigger not long after. So buy used for the best deal as it is a starter bike to learn. Scratches are just buying power for you (assuming not internally damaged) I wouldn't throw too much money into it unless you plan on keeping it for a few years

Scratches do not bother me at all really. I would only make them look "better" per say. But the one I listed in OP is a bit too scratched up for me haha. It has a big hole in the side

Haha im the same way so I totally get it but just as someone who's gone down that road already saving the extra few bucks is worth it. (I bought new mind you) save money for gear and your future bike!

R1 is hell of a bike, but just remember that you won't be able to use much of its potential on the road.

While you should make your own choice about your bike, do honestly evaluate your brain-wrist connection, then decide on your needs before your desires. Take a 600 pver a 1000cc bike, look at costs - insurance, fuel, tyres, brakes, soon adds up the bigger the bike gets.

It's one of the fastest bikes you can buy. The Hayabusa's reputation preceeds itself.

It's not uncommon over here for people to sell them on pretty quickly.

Fair enough. I won't look into it then.

Atm in looking for performance and stability lol. Not speed. As, again, I'm a starter xD
