Vlog Schedule?

I'm not sure if this has already been posted recently but how many of you have a set time and set day(s) for your vlogs to be posted? Mine are going to be posted every Monday and Friday with extra short clips here and there.

I just post them when I make them. I don't want to have to make a vlog just to meet a deadline.
I've heard it's good for your channel to have a regular schedule, but I've never subscribed to somebody because they post on a regular basis. On the other hand, I have unsubscribed from people because I'm fed up of seeing so many videos in my feed. Quality beats quantity every time.

Personally I want to move away from the monday vlogs. Everyone does them
So when you go to youtube on a monday morning theres a list longer than my weener.

Post a on tuesday when you dont have to compete for time?

I used to post every Friday at around 11pm... why because thats the only free time I had :) But I did notice people would watch the video very fast as if they were waiting. Now I don't I get trickle views on mine so I may go back to releasing at a set time and day again.

But in all honesty I thin the time and day thing only works for big channels.

I don't have a schedule, although I try for once a week. I've a core set of viewers (sort of) who always seem to watch within a few days, so I don't release within 5 days as a rule.

When I first started I had the time to do mon-wed-fri vlogs. But that turned into a chore. I do youtube for fun. I try to upload once a week now (be it a vlog, cars and coffee or a car review if I have one) but sometimes I don't quite make that. I got a whole lot less time on my hands now due to a mentally demanding job with a long commute time. That and kids, wanting to watch some shows and game once and a while leaves little time compared to when I started this hobby.

I don't have a lot of videos up but I usually just try to put them up when I make them and feel comfortable with the content. But I think it's a good idea for your subscribers to be looking forward to something at least once a week.

People say its important to have a schedule to build your channel but I don't think its necessary until you get to a certain level...

Not sure what that level is yet but I'd say its dependent on average view counts (aka are your subs actually viewing your content)

I was just going to ask this and also ask if its hard for anyone else to keep a schedule. I try for every wed/sat but it does not always come out on the planned day.

I am trying to aim for thurs or fri once a week but that depends on content and shift work if I don't have a lot of decent footage I will make it short to keep it ticking over ( that's the plan anyway lol)..I've heard you can set a timer to upload on YouTube

Yea you can upload a video and schedule it to go out at a certain date and time. I have done that a few times and it works great. Except, I always get that itch and want to upload it right away haha. I have to upload it, and shut down my computer or I wont let it go on schedule haha

It's your thing, do what you wanna do...
...but if it's harder to churn out a motovlog on a regular basis than it is to learn that your wife is having octuplets, then do it in moderation... it'll be more fun in the long run ;) .....

I use this for my roadtrip vlogs. Thursdays at 6pm my time...

Sorry for the slow response. I respectfully disagree with having to be a bigger vlogger to have a schedule. I think being consistent from the start is the best thing to do. Especially when you have subscribers from sites like this who consistently watch your videos and look forward to your content. I definitely do understand not being able to because of having a family or not having enough time because of work or something. Thank you guys for all of your opinions and feedback :)

You have monetize your channel and I've heard it's not good to do that so I've never done it. I always wanna click the monetize button just so I can have the schedule an upload feature.

I did monetize my videos in the beginning and realized putting adds up was stupid at this point. I don't have enough subs to make a difference so at this point it was just annoyance to the viewers. I went back and removed all the adds from my older videos and no longer put adds on my new ones. But, I still have the option to schedule, so if that's something you would like do it.

I like Wednesdays and Saturdays. That's a lot different than most people.

So you're able to disable the ads and still keep the schedule feature? Or does your channel have to have ads at first when you monetize it?
