Wow! I am so jealous!
We have just come off the phone to sky, they got us to unplug stuff, plug it back in and even take the socket apart at the wall. they are now running remote tests for 24 hours cos they couldn't work out what the problem was... Do you think they are actually testing it or just bogging us off for 24 hours?

If it is a recent thing, then hopefully they should be able to sort it. Sometimes I know that the "profile" of the line (i.e. the speeds it's set up to allow through) get a bit screwed and need resetting, which is hopefully what they will do.
If they can't get you back to where you were, then whinge and moan at them to get out of the contract - although if it is actually the line rather than just Sky's problems, this may not always work, as regardless of who you go with, they generally use the same bits of wire to get to your house.....
And just to rub salt into the wounds, here are my stats with BT, according to Speedtest.net:
Ping: 15m/s
Download: 75.95 Mbps
Upload: 8.22 Mbps

I remember doing a speed test a few months ago and it was much higher than it is now, but cant remember the exact figre, I will have to look on facebook I think cos I think i put it on there as a reply to my friends post comparing speeds, and mine was faster than his.
Doubt it is now! It is a recent problem. For the last two months we have had trouble getting programmes from the on demand service and streaming films from amazon and netflix. Just didnt realise just how bad it had got!

It's BT Infinity 2, so fibre to the cabinet at the end of the road (<100m) then copper to the house.
You're not at / near the end of your contract are you? Could be a good bargaining point for going elsewhere.....

With regards to T'Bikers comment on profiling- this is quite a common practice in the industry, it's designed to tinker your line to the best service based on your needs. You could ask them about if the profile has been changed. Prepare for the 1st line support person to be confused, or bamboozle you with info

I d rather render 1080p (obviously depends on cam) and have lower bitrate when encoding. and a smaller file.
my 10 min vids are still around 1gb i think. and i don t believe i am losing quality compared to you.

on the other hand. i only do all that because of slow rendering speed and storage (need a better PC)
internet in this country is insane. 1 gb don t take 3 minutes to upload (if at all) and have had bittorrent running at over 4mbit/s xD

Download 1.47mbps
Upload 0.47mbps
So im guessing thats pretty rubbish
Yeah. I don't seem to have problems downloading or uploading. I'm on a FTTH network though, and there are plans available up to four times faster than mine.
Ping 10 to 20ms
Download 18 to 23mbps
Upload 2 to 5mbps
Its the editing where I'm stuck at the moment. No software to combine external audio means I'm stuck. On a Mac it seems options are limited and expensive.

Is there no way for you to have combined audio direct into your camera?
I just use imovie at the moment. its easy to use but limited on what I can actually do with it until i can get a new mac this will have to do for now.

I can, and probably will, but that requires drilling of holes in my Sony waterproof case, and I'm not sure what the audio quality will be like. So, I'm doing a permanent mod to the case, just to find out whether I'm willing to live with the audio quality.Is there no way for you to have combined audio direct into your camera?

It will make it possible to use iMovie though, and I'm not one for effects anyway, so it might just be the ticket. Can you string together movie clips with iMovie? I ask, because my Sony action cam chops the video up into 4gb clips (about 30 minutes).
For a while there I really enjoyed using the Trial version of Final Cut Pro X!
