Gear

Just curious what everyone's favorite gear company is and what gear do you use/want?

Personally I am a huge Icon fan
I have an Icon Contra jacket, Icon Anthem gloves, and an Icon Alliance dark helmet

I want an Icon styker vest and the Icon 1000 Chapter Leather Jacket (in brown) but they don't make it anymore :(

But I am always interested in new gear and want as much as I can get.

i love my Hjc helmets, ive got weise textile gear and RST leathers and 2 sets of sidi boots 1 gortex the other the sporty version, and i love a good set of alpinestar gloves though :$

Gear is highly subjective, each manufacturer cuta differently to others, so some sit better.

Also depends what you want, gear for the heat, the temperate or the cold, and water proofing. For the latter a reasonable brand using GoreTex layers would be your best bet.

And of course there's budget. Saw a £600 Goretex jacket recently, I'm just not going to spend that kind of money on a jacket...

The only time I would spend $600+ on a jacket would be for a really nice leather jacket

It's like helmets, at what point does price does the quality improvement stop? And that no-brand GoreTex jacket - because youve not heard of them and it's cheap, is it actually crap?

Price is kind of like anything. I am a huge believer in you pay for quality but a lot of the time you pay for the brand name.

I try to look into anything id like to buy, like there is websites that do helmet tests havent seen one for bike gear yet, but my mate has the same leathers and hes come off his bikes a couple times and they faired up soo well.

I donno about tests but I know revzilla does product reviews

I go for quality, and comfort first, then price and then looks. generally thats the order when buying gear for me.

And Yeah Lurch I 100% agree the Revzilla reviews really helped me with my choices in gear

A bit of a mix and match for me.
Bell open face & RJays flip face helmets
Rhino leather vented jacket & Harley Davidson leather jackets
Southern cross leather & HD mesh gloves
Draggin jeans pants, leather boots (don't know the brand.

I switch helmets, gloves and jackets depending on the weather etc. The vented jacket allows good protection in hot weather whilst still cool / comfortable.

So far I've only had Dainese gear (jacket/gloves) and I love them! Fit great and obviously high quality stuff, I haven't had a problem with them yet.

I've heard Dainese makes awesome gear thought it's meant for tiny people (Italian cut)
