So Is There A Solar Bear And Polar Bear Challenge This Year?

Really enjoyed doing the Solar Bear Challenge last year. It's a challenge with a focus to get people out on their bikes through the winter instead of having them sat in the garage with woolly blankets covering them.

There are 9 challenges - one for each letter SOLAR BEAR - and you go out and do a vlog in your neighbourhood that relates to the specific challenge. At the end of each one, you have to run or walk round your bike three times chanting Solar Bear, and you get extra points if you get others to help you do this, or for particular interesting elements in your video. Yes, there's a slight embarrassment element involved.

I failed to finish last year because you had to find something where Holland had made an impact on your area, and unfortunately, the Schengen Agreement hasn't yet hit Harrogate.

Hoping to see the challenge come up at some point soon, and hoping a number of motovlog.com motovloggers will join in

Doesn't look like it's going to happen this year. RC62 is unable to run it as he has too much going on. I offered to run it on his behalf, but I have no experience with servers, setting up web pages, etc. So if someone can do the set-up work, I'm still up for running it.

That's a shame. Maybe a slightly different challenge could be coordinated through motovlog.com where each new challenge is put up on a Sunday and people can post their vlogs on one thread, with the ringmaster keeping a tally of who has done what in the original thread? No need for a time limit on when to do the challenge by?
