Re-upload?

So I need to re-upload one of my first vlogs, as I made the mistake of not originally rendering it into 720p.

I was just wondering if it was possible on youtube to replace a video, with the same video but in better quality, without having to lose views and likes?

According to YouTube/Google, you cannot :

Replace videos
Unfortunately, you won't be able to replace an old video with a new one and keep the original view count, comments or ratings. Instead, you may want to try using annotations or link to the new version of the video from your old video.

You can also make changes to a video you've already uploaded by using YouTube Video Enhancements. (In order to be eligible for YouTube Video Enhancements, your video must not have received more than 1,000 views and not have a Content ID Match.)
